It's pretty interesting to me when a former starting NFL quarterback is at a high school game in Pike County.

If Pikeville's line is any good at all, they will win with their 3 very good backs.

You do remember they ran for like 300 yards on Belfry don't you??? The line whipped Belfry, special teams mistakes cost them the game...Those 3 backs will give people fits...

Like they said on the sportscast tonight, Pikeville has the most athletic backfield in the mountains. They can be as good as Belfry and Corbin above them. Having said that, with their killer schedule they will probably fall out of the Top 10, but will re-enter late in the year...

Get your lawyer to postpone it... j/k Hearsay...Pikeville has a lot of injuries right now. They could be a good team in November, but I don't really expect much early. There was a HC scout at Pikeville's scrimmage, he had to be foaming at the mouth...

Friday I am going to Whitesburg to watch Hazard vs. Letcher Central, then going home to watch Corbin and Belfry on TV. Saturday, Pikeville vs. Louisville Holy Cross.

In JC's defense...it was a game until their monster FB went out...Don't get me wrong, CC was the better team (they were better than all but 2 or 3 teams in the state), but the gap isn't big...

I believe they are scrimmaging Prestonsburg on Aug. 11 at Clay Co. Don't know the time.

^^^It's great what they did with the great facilities at Belfry. Now it's time to do the same for Phelps and then Pike County schools have the best facilities, throughout the system, of any system in the state. Edit: For high schools...

Cool thread. I'm going in a bit of a different direction though and staying in the mountains each week. For me nothing beats football in the mountains on a Friday night. Right now I'm trying to decide where to go on the Fri. night before Pikeville's PC Bowl game. Corbin/Belfry is the best game, but I can tape it and watch when I get home. Might go to Ashland/Raceland or Letcher Central/Hazard. Don't have time to look at the rest of the schedule, I'll post mine for the whole year later...

^He was a senior. Hope he is playing. I used to go to this bowl every year, until it went downhill. May go again this year. When is it played?

I wouldn't negotiate for 30 seconds with a bunch that wouldn't even consider a home and home series, but that's just me. Pikeville agreed to go to Putnam TWO years in a row. I can see the contract ----To get jobbed twice, sign HERE ________________________. :flame:
