John Hardin/Bowling Green Predictions
Purples are well coached, and will make it to state. I think BG is rolling right now, and if the Purps got some gas left in the tank they go to state!

Bowling Green 28 Christian County 14
I want to apologize. This thread should be about tonights game, and to congratulate the BG Purps! I opened up a can of worms, and this wasn't the thread for it. Sorry, Congrats BG!

Bowling Green 28 Christian County 14
Johnson Central would not have beaten Christian Co., or Owensboro last year. Sorry.

Bowling Green 28 Christian County 14
I just hate it, how brutal the road is to get out of our region and to state, then win it. BG has another WAR against a very physical JH team, and if the Purps win, how much will be left in the tank for a relatively healthy and unchallenged Highlands? It makes me sick. The west is better than what we show in the title games. Wars man, just wars.

Congrats Purples! Go and take care of buisness next week and get another shot at Highlands!!

Highlands 49 Dixie Heights 0
Congrats Highlands, but the Bluebirds road to the championship is a joke. HHS get a cakewalk to the finals every year.

Bowling Green 25 Owensboro 21
Congrats to BG. The Purples showed lots of heart, and just flat out took it to OHS in the 4th quarter. Lavance Anderson and Sam Howard carried the Purples tonight. Im still puzzled how Howard caught the TD that got BG back in the game. OHS had double coverage and both guys just flat out lost the ball. Unreal. Great punt return by Howard as well. Like I said in another thread, OHS will never sniff a state title unless coach Prince gets someone that understands how to run a productive offense. OHS looked lost on offense once again tonight. I don't mean to slight BG's awesome defense but OHS has too many athletes not to be more productive. Again, congrats BG and good luck the rest of the way.

Who (Other than You-Know-Who) Could Win 5A?
I really think Owensboro could win because I don't think OHS has played anywhere near what they are capable of this season. I love OHS' team speed. The Devils have a 3 or 4 guys that can take it to the house on any given play. It's just a matter of putting it all together. Penalites, dropped passes, getting the play in on time, turnovers, are just a few of the problems OHS has had this season. I think in a one game shot against "you know who" that OHS could make a game of it and possibly win. The biggest thing against a team from the west particuarly Region 1 is that its murderors row just to get to the championship game. Every year the west team has very little left in the title game.

Trigg County/Fort Campbell predictions
Bill nobody has to justify or explain their votes to you, me, or anybody. You don't have to say why you vote in a political poll, so why would you here. If they wanna vote against Ft. Campbell and not explain why then thats their right! BTW Ft. Campbell wins big.

Class 5A Playoff Preview
Amen brother!!!! OHS is need of an offensive mind, like you wouldn't believe. If you knew how much crazy speed OHS, you'd be scratching your head as to why they aren't lighting up the scoreboard.

Class 5A Playoff Preview
I'm not sure Owensboro makes it to the region championsip, but the Red Devils have the talent to make it all the way to state. OHS is as fast or faster than any team in Kentucky, but the offense just hasn't come together for the Devils. Could be an early exit or it could be a magical ride. It's up to OHS.

Owensboro 17 Henderson Co. 14
OHS....where do I start. So many athletes, but can't score. I'm not knocking Henderson, but this is a problem that doesn't look like its gonna be fixed. OHS needs an offensive mind over there real bad. Early exit from the playoffs for OHS.

Owensboro/Henderson County Updates
Kal Prince runs it in from 10 yards out. Owensboro 17, Henderson 14. Its funny how when OHS HAS to have it, they turn it on. Absolutely no excuse for this offense not to be more productive. Gonna be a short postseason for OHS.

Owensboro/Henderson County Updates
Henderson 14, Owensboro 10-Gilliam hits a 38 yd field goal. OHS had the ball on HC 15 and couldn't get in.

Warren Central 18 Bowling Green 10
I just finished watching the replay. Wow! B.G. fell victim to to old wing-t offense. That offense is a nightmare to play against. Escpecially when you got athletes the caliber of Warren Central. Please W.C. beat Greenwood next week. I don't want the Dragons coming to Rash in the first round. I think WC will beat Christian County in the second rd. Provided the Devils and Purples take care of buisness to meet each other in the 2nd round, I see WC playing for the regional championship. Looks like theres a new "old" kid on the block down in BG! So if WC beats Greenwood, wouldn't that make the Dragons city-county champs in BG? No doubt the Purples will be fightin' mad after this. I wouldn't wanna be Barren Co. next week. On a side note, I noticed Jay Beard was back. He did look really rusty. I wonder if he is playing with pain? Even with the injury he would start for any team in the state. One last thought......Dragonfire, Purplehaze........man is western Kentucky 5A brutal or what? See you guys down the line (hopefully).

Owensboro 16 Hopkinsville 6
Owensboro is in a big time funk right now. Since losing to Christian County, OHS' confidence has been shot. Offensivley the Devils have been mistake prone with fumbles and untimely penalties. Tonight it was too many missed passes and turnovers. I know OHS has the tools to make a serious push for a title, but it's just not clicking right now.

Saint Xavier 32 Trinity 7
I think Trinity has better coaches than St. X. The Tigers seem to win the regular season game, only to have Trinity win the title game. It seems Trinity's coaches do a much better job of making adjustments for the second game.

Christian County 13 Owensboro 10
You're right. I don't know where the HHS players live. But I do know in the past that some great players (Lorenzen, Smith) didn't live in Ft. Thomas. You can live out of district if the parents pay tution. Guess I ruffled some feathers! LOL.

Owensboro simply beat themselves. 4 turnovers and numberous penalties were the downfall for OHS. All County does is stack the line and dare OHS to beat them through the air, and the Red Devils can't come up with a gameplan to counter. It seems OHS gets outcoached in the big games every time especially in the playoffs. County has some great athletes but I see why BG beat them by a few TD's. Kal Prince played like a freshman, but County was in his face all night. Then you add the poorest officiated game on top of that and it spelled doom for OHS. The way things went down County should have blown OHS out. That 12 men on the field penalty to give the ball back to County after Ryan Bowling returned the punt inside the County 30 was flat out the dumbest call I have ever witnessed in watching high school football. OHS has many issues to correct, and now the road just got 100 time more difficult to L.T. Smith. A state title may be a pipedream for OHS now.- Trinity 9 Bowling Green 0
I was hoping the Purples would put this one off. It kind of confirms that BG is very one dementional on offense. Lavance ripped Owensboro the week before, but Trinity bottled the stud senior running back up. BG will take out this loss on Grayson County next week.- Highlands 12 Saint Xavier, OH 7
Congrats Birds. Now I'm gonna puke because I just realized OHS has no shot a state title now.- Owensboro\Bowling Green Predictions
I've gone back and forth on this game for a while now. 2 weeks ago I had no question that BG was slightly the better team. With Jay Beard out for this game, I think that puts a big hurt on the stingy Purple Defense. One big issue that concerns me is that OHS continues to commit silly penalties and shoot themselves in the foot. Im not a follower of BG, but I think I saw the Purples close to being on top of their game against OCath. Let me say that BG looked VERY impressive. They looked very disciplined and buisness-like in that game. OHS, I think, is still trying to iron out the kinks. Sometimes they look like they got it, only to do something that puzzles you. Let me make this clear also. OHS has been very impressive in thier own right this season as well. Ultimatley this will be the first of two EPIC games this season between BG and OHS. Without Beard, I'm going with the Red Devils in Rd. 1. OHS 24 BG 17 - Christian County 13 Owensboro 10
