  1. Wow, Saturday looks like a great day. However, I won't be sitting thru the deep freeze to watch Bowling Green. I will be back at the hotel with a bourbon keeping warm and checking updates on the preps.:thumb:
  2. I thought Bowling Green played Friday night.
  3. I don't question Dale and what he does seems to work. Actually, I try to avoid Dale during football season. It is very scary to be in the presence of Dale during football season.:scared: He thinks he is all nice and friendly , but I would rather be getting a root canal when I'm around Dale during the season.:meh:
  4. If a luxury RV is a 52 passenger bus with some great people that pack a tailgate for you to enjoy just so you have a ride to the game , then that is great. :ylsuper:
  5. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to get to Bowling Green. Nice easy drive. We have been doing it since '09. Also, Highlands fans travel well to state games whether they are in Louisville or Bowling Green. And have been known to travel well to games like Johnson Central, Whitley County, Hazard, etc. To some of the playoff games that have been approximately 2 hours more or less, the fans usually get together and get a couple of 52 passenger busses. Then you have some fans that have their own luxury busses that bring another large group. Heck, not long ago, two "long" busses to Lexington Catholic was the norm. I remember renting 4 big busses to go to state in Louisville and the same in Bowling Green. The last couple of years in Bowling Green, it seems more fans are renting their own , what I call "rock star" bus, to take friends and family. Heck, I have seen at least 4 or 5 of those busses on any given Saturday in Bowling Green parked around the Highlands tailgate. Highlands fans travel well. And to up and coming Highlands fans I have some words of wisdom, "Ask not what your football team can do for you but what you can do for your football team":thumb:
  6. It isn't just for fans. There has to been enough hotel rooms for every team whether they stay or not. Plus fans .
  7. Louisville does not want the championship. Lexington has natural turf. Not good if you have a rainy weekend and have to play 6 games. Richmond does not have enough hotels to accommodate all the teams and fans.
  8. You won't get the barrel if the school is providing the bus. However, if you want to take it on yourself, get the bus, fill it with friends and take the financial risk, you can have whatever beverage you want on the bus.
  9. All you have to do is ask Dale. He is a completely different person during Cov. Cath. week. :rage:  On second thought, don't ask Dale. Not a good week to be around him. Hide you wife and kids and lock the doors.:taz:
  10. I don't think it is a rivalry at all. Everyone just stay home and catch the score on the preps. It's just one NKY team playing another NKY team. Nothing to see here folks.:sneaky:
  11. So Mercer plays Lex Cath. next week and Mercer lost to Lex Cath earlier this season. Of course Mercer lost to Boyle earlier this season and only beat Boyle by 1 last night. Now Mercer faces Lex Cath next week and it sounds like a lot of big talk from a team that lost to Lex Cath. Highlands plays Cov. Cath next week and Im cheering for Highlands, but after reading this thread, if Mercer makes it past next week, I would love to see a Highlands vs. Mercer Match up. Or Heaven forbid a Cov . Cath. Mercer match up . After reading this thread, I don't care who wins , just someone beat Mercer.
  12. Any updates? How much time is left?
  13. Ok, its Friday night and for the record I would have been in bed earlier but I'm a slow reader. Wow what a thread and what a game. Learned long ago that Dale has a method to his madness. Thought that Hoge had a nice game. Has some zip on that ball. Moves and has confidence. As for the defense, I saw some young guys go up against an very fast team. Would love to see the offensive yards for #6. And what was going on with the QB hand in the 4th? Was he really hurt or was he pulling an "Elder"? He kept complaining for about 5 or 6 plays and the coaches really didn't show concern and the trainer didn't even check him out. Next thing you know, he is tucking and running to get a first and throwing and "touchdown". You would have thought his hand was broken. Of course this occurred when WC had one and then none time outs left. Like I said earlier, liked seeing some of the younger D play. A favorite was Schoepf. He got PO'd about the same time I did. Loved the spirit and he is going to be a fun player to watch next year.
  14. Game canceled due to weather.
  15. They were still on to play as of last night.
  16. I really feel sorry for the kid whose parent filed the Bully complaint. That is embarrassing.
  17. Never saw a $25 certificate towards the jacket , but everything else was correct.
  18. There was football long before the hand shake.
  19. :ylsuper: Now this is what a school should do after a game.
  20. Still not a fan of the handshake. Maybe it's time to move on from old traditions.:sssh:
  21. :idunno:So, are we shaking or not? Is it up to the school or not? What the heck, should I stay or should I go?
