  1. Highlands will be absolutely loaded next year. The senior, junior, and soph class all went undefeated at the freshman and jv level if I'm not mistaken.
  2. Congrats to the Colonels.
  3. Then maybe the officials should come out at the same time the teams do to enforce the rules? Could be something to consider.
  4. I think the biggest rule that should be implemented is the use of the shot clock. It would make the game go by much quicker and also allow for more scoring and action. Fans like quick paced games. Also I think what MCPAPA said about dunking in warm ups was dead on. Why let them dunk before the refs come out but not while they're there? Either let them do it the whole time or none at all.
  5. That's the only thing I'm worried about. With the crappy weather we've been having, I think it may have to be postponed until next week end.
  6. Wow very nice facilities. I think it's kind of comical how T and X fans are arguing about who has the better field now though.
  7. Hopefully they can get the games in tonight. HC St Henry should be a good one.
  8. It's up to the coaches who are coaching the team. I know Newport coached the East last year and had 6 and the year before that Holmes coaches coached and had 6 or 7. Every team has to have atleast 1 representative though. Holmes only had 1 last year and Dayton only had 2.
  9. I know this happened last year to the West team. Muth of Beechwood was supposed to be their starting QB but was playing in the state tournament that day so he didn't get to play.
  10. Exactly what I was thinking. The only one I could see going D! and it'd be small D1 like say a Morehead St would be Cory Farris or maybe Brian Sauerbeck.
  11. It's always been this way. What's the big deal? West has 5 4A teams. East has 3. It makes sense and evens out in the end.
  12. Could this be the year that one school has both the fastpitch and baseball team win the region title and go to state? From early indications, it's looking that way.
  13. From the KY Enquirer's Mike Dyer... http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/preps/2007/01/nky-football.asp Just fielded a call from Louisville Courier-Journal recruiting reporter Jody Demling. He was asking about this year's class of juniors and any possible Division I players. I'm not sure if I'm fully engulfed in basketball, or if I'm being overly harsh, but I told him I don't think there are any. The maybes: Cory Farris, RB, Boone County He was the only junior to be named a first team Enquirer all-star, but his future is probably more as a left-handed hitting catcher than a running back. He doesn't have D-I breakaway back speed, but teams might look at him as a safety. Drew Davis, DL, Beechwood Who knows? He was hurt for much of 2006. But he has a pretty good frame (6-3, 220) and he seems to have a knack for making plays. Alex Hempfling, OL, Highlands The Bluebirds do have a pretty good track record at the position. I can think of four Division I lineman they've produced in the last five years. James Miller, RB, Holmes He's small (5-8, 165), but I've heard his highlight tape already rivals teammate and Kentucky recruit Duran Jefferson's. Adam Schmitz, LB, Ryle Good player. But if senior teammate Vince Murray is a borderline D-I player, it might be a hard sell, especially at 5-11. Tommy Bankemper, RB, Beechwood See Cory Farris. Brian Sauerbeck, LB, Campbell County His brother walked on at Kentucky. And he seems to be a very similar player. Shaun Bogle, QB, Boone County If recruited, it will be as an athlete. Clay Cecil, QB, Highlands He's athletic, but we really haven't seen him throw the ball much. Dustin Giesler, DL, NewCath Great frame (6-5, 200). With the graduation of Louisville recruit Zack Kiernan, we'll see how he handles double-teams. I'm sure plenty more maybes will emerge. But right now, that's who comes to mind. Feel free to add your own.
  14. It was 43-0. My bad. But yea the East will be loaded again this year and should roll. Holmes- Justin Young CCH- Bovard, Popham (K) , Flynn NCC- Michael Vicars, Kiernan Highlands- Jordan Kramer Just to name a few
  15. East teams- NCC , Bellevue, Dayton, Newport, Highlands, Covcath, Holmes, Campbell Co, Dixie West Teams- Holy Cross, Ludlow, Beechwood, Lloyd, Scott, Simon kenton, Ryle, Boone Co, Conner Last year East Rolled over the West 49-7 I believe.
  16. Thanks for the update. It will be much easier to attend now.
  17. I think it'll be Holy Cross representing NKY down state though.
  18. I was thinking the same thing.
  19. I'm not a big fan of this either. While it might save you from missing a player for a key district game, all in all it doesn't keep you prepared all season. I think the old format was much better knowing every week counted and the season would come down to those last 3 or 4 games.
  20. I work for the marketing firm that puts together promotions for Shaker Run..I can get us a deal if anyone's up for a 4-some...maybe we'll have to see if TOG still has his swing sometime?
  21. Thanks for the info guys. I know a little about the course but have never played it. Should be very challenging though.
  22. Is everyone's district schedule going to be scattered throughout their schedules this year with non-district game in between them?
  23. 5A) 1) Highlands 2) CCH Pick and choose 3 through 10
