HHSDawgs1424 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Anyone had the chance to ever play this course in Ohio? I have a Saturday morning tee time there with a client so I'm just wondering what it's like. I know it was Golf Digest Best Places to Play 2007 and host of the 2005 U.S Amatuer Public Links Championship.
h.s.sportsrbest Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Nice; really nice. They have some different 9's, but the "main" course starts out on a reachable par 5 with bunkers in the landing area and an uphill 2nd that slightly dogs to the right. Manicured to the nines. Greens are great; but I'm not sure what kind of shape they'll be in after all of this fickle weather. You'll have a great time. Number 9 (par 4, drive over water and 2nd to a peninsula surrounded by water) is a GREAT golf hole.
buckman41ss Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Heres their site.Very nice.:thumb: http://www.shakerrungolfclub.com/view.asp?id=16&page=223
HHSDawgs1424 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Thanks for the info guys. I know a little about the course but have never played it. Should be very challenging though.
Theoldguy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Wife worked for a Armco Steel in the seventies (insurance end of the business) and we belonged to the employees park which at the time Shaker Run was. fballStud06 you will throughly enjoy yourself. It is a first class course and that number nine hole is a blast. Enjoy and hopefully the weather holds for you.....

I work for the marketing firm that puts together promotions for Shaker Run..I can get us a deal if anyone's up for a 4-some...maybe we'll have to see if TOG still has his swing sometime?
bellalumni40 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Heard Shaker is great. We got a lot of Ohio guys down in Georgetown, especially when it was cold and they would mention Shaker a lot. Had a guy come in that worked at Shaker and had a lot of great things to say about it. I'm hoping to get up there some time and check it out for myself.
