  1. Didn't expect this; but LC has come back before. Not counting them out yet.
  2. SO! can anyone that was there tell me how any lex cath players did? any of them stand out? how did the o-line and d-line look?
  3. pretty bad camera work but it's hard to keep up with technology! sorry it took so long in posting. on the sides it has the players last name, the helmet with their number, and below it 15-15 for fifteen years, and fifteen games in a season (including post season). on the other side it has knights, #1 3a behind a picture of ky and our record, 14-1.
  4. They have them but I don't have a picture to post.
  5. Until the time comes when there are fewer district games, I feel LCHS should continue to play those teams in Louisville who played us in the past. Yes it would be good for Lexington area football , but the initial boycott had to do with soccer and basketball IMHO. Now that LCHS has a title, everyone of them wants a crack at us. Let them start by playing our JV and Freshmen teams.
  6. Unless they are mentally handicapped , there is no reason an athlete should NOT be required to maintain a C average. What does football qualify you for out in the "real world" ? Maybe you can make it as a hod carrier or something.
  7. Congrats LC and thanks to the seniors for the past four years, we have enjoyed watching you come together as a team and reach your ultimate goal-- STATE. You guys are the best.
  8. We can't forget you RTS! You got state last year and we got it this year, what a great couple of years and what great boys on both teams.
  9. We grew up in northern Ky and went to the Catholic schools and we were always against Highlands so to see them beat HHS was like a win for all the aunts, uncles and cousins that went before. There was so many family members at that game and that made the win even better.
  10. We have a son in AAA game and relative in A game so we are expecting a group of 50 or so for both games, what a great family reunion!!
  11. There is some bad blood between Highlands and NewCath that goes back a couple of years.
  12. Hats off to the classy HHC fans and atheletes. Many came over and congradulated the team on the win. I know honestly there was no one there that thought the score would be that low or that we would shut them out. Their seniors have nothing to hang their heads about. What a great football program from a fan's point of view.
  13. Yeah can you knock down that old building in front? It would help with parking for games
  14. The same could be said of Dunbar. They get the best of the best of everything for the city schools.
  15. Principle of the thing....I have saved the Commonwealth of Kentucky over 10k per year that I sent my kids to private school. My choice, yes, having nothing to do with sports. I am tired of people accusing me and others like me of cheating. This strikes at what we consider fair play. If you can't beat me, then just change the rules so everyone gets a trophy--and a ring. At the same time in Fayette County, we taxpayers have erected two artifical turf fields while one high school here in town was caving in on itself (no money).
  16. Sorry to disagree but I think it has more to do with government money. Since total enrollment affects budgets etc., the ADs are looking at what they are missing out on (cash wise). But remember, it's all for the children! I do agree that if it were to pass, the title would be meaningless. Any winner of that title would have to wonder "what if?".
  17. I disagree. If it was all about sports or religion, maybe so. The reason I sent my kids to LC had nothing to do with sport or religion. There are many reason why people send their kids there. If sports is the only reason, I feel sorry for them. What if junior/juniorette blows his or her knee out sophomore year? Kind of screwed then...
  18. I have been to some LC practices in the past and on any given day (depending on the season) there are 3-4 different teams using the field. Insofar as the one Gender school is concerned, I would ALWAYS pick a boys/girls single gender school over co-ed in high school. There have been plenty of studies that prove girls especially do better in a single sex environment. However, I do understand that 1500 boys at one school is a lot! Joe
