Congrats to Gallatin County, they had a nice complete team effort from players to coaches and fans whereas Walton was out played and out-coached. Maybe after 3 monthes you would think a team would learn you have to play both sides of the floor and stop all of the theatrical crap.

Gallatin County is clearly the best basketball team to ever take a court in the state of KY, they win by double digits easily in this matchup with "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" team from WV. The above statement is meant to be taken as a joke sort of:p

IMO, Kirk played a pretty nice game, the remaining starters looked as if they were never into the game for the Bearcats. Some thought they were shooting the next "AND1 Remix Tape".

I have to agree 100%, the officials were absolutely horrible for this game. I think it is safe to say that none of those 3 officials will be officiating at the Sweet 16. As bad as the officiating was I felt that if WV had taken care of the ball they would still walk out with a victory. The Boone County players were great from pregame until the final buzzer.

Walton Verona beat Bracken County last Thursday 22-0, Walton plays at Dayton this Thursday.

I had seen that same thing about the state championship being moved away from the Horse Park but have since heard that they will keep it there and just change the location of the actual course. I think they said somewhere around the Polo course, close to where all of the vehicles have parked in the past meets.

From Northern KY take I-71 South, Verona exit then make a left back across the interstate, the field is on the left at the Verona Sports Complex (kinda behind the Chevron Station) I would think once they are granted permission by KHSAA to field a Varsity team, they will more than likely be in 2A.

Walton-Verona will field a JV & Freshman team this season and they have a new artificial field to play on. The field looks awesome, best of luck for the Bearcats as they progress toward a building a program from scratch.

I don't think Toyota had anything to do with this move, this young man is looking to improve his academics and if he can do that then I say congrats to him. I'm not sure how the KHSAA will look at the situation with him having participated at the varsity level at Henry Clay. I have seen & coached against this kid and he is a talented player with very quick hands & feet. With that being said, I don't think he will see the court enough to average 15 pts. a game next season for the Cardinals.

Just read that Stacy May was named the Head Basketball Coach for Williamstown. This will be his first varsity head coaching job, he was their jayvee coach this past season.

:thumb: my thinking exactly, that list looks to be composed of all seniors and Arrez is only a Junior so maybe that had something to do with it.

Grant County did get some press time a couple years back when they beat your mighty Bluebirds in football:lol: during their last State Championship year. joking, GC was talking about putting a banner up but I think they figured a major butt whooping would likely follow if they did that Back to the real topic at hand, the region that has the majority of income producing advertisers and readers is going to get the bulk of the limited amount of budget for high school sports. Often the best source I've found is to try and find a local paper that covers the specific team most of them publish once a week. My favorite paper that covered Northern KY sports was the Dixie News, it mainly covered the 9th region schools but would sometimes drift to the 8th & 10th Regions.

I tried to get the audio feed to work & couldn't so I have been refreshing this thread, listeneing to the 11th region feed on the internet & watching the 9th region final live on tv. Thanks for keeping us updated!:thumb:
