Hopefully the Pats come out and get their first win of the season.

Danville needs to stick to the wishbone, they ran the ball much better out of that formation. Danville seems to have the ingredients of a solid team, just need time to get their youngsters some experience.

Larry French was a good coach at LC, but they had a big run of talent while he was there. The team is very yound and inexperienced right now. Nearly half of the team our freshman. The future is bright, Coach Settles is trying to build a program from little league on up. It takes time to that. Actually, LC was very good at football before French every got there too.

I have no idea what to expect our of the Patriots. Hopefully a W.

Friday at 6pm. The second game will feature Garrard County vs. Rowan County.

Like it or not, Boyle County has been running up the score on teams for years now, dating back to Chuck Smith's era. Throwing with a huge lead late in games, kicking on-side kicks, etc. Bottom line is if you don't like it, do something about it. Like stop them from doing it (or at least try). Most can't stop them, that's why the score gets out of hand. From what I saw it wouldn't matter where the two teams played.

That will work to his advantage when being recruited. Big programs like to get talented kids young and redshirt them. I think he has D1 potential too. I've been watching him for years, every since he played for Junction City, :lol: He is the real deal. #91 for BC was tuff too.

I checked out the Rebs since LC was off this week. Very impressive, especially on defense. Lamar Dawson is the real deal. One of the better players I've seen around here in a while.

Anderson shouldn't have much trouble in this one. I expect Garrard to be better this year, but not good enough to challenge Anderson County. They are a very impressive team. I saw Anderson scrimmage LC, and they had there way with Lincoln. Not that LC is a great team or anything, but Anderson really destroyed them. And I would say GC and LC are pretty similar squads.

The key for LC is avoiding those long scoring droughts. They had too many of those last year. They played great defense. They return a ton of players, they should be a fun team to watch. I look for LC, Rockcastle Co and Casey to all contend (once again) for the region.

Lincoln will be rebuilding this season. To be successful they will have to bring some of the young kids along that haven't had the oppurtunity to play much. They return two starters and a couple of role players. The cupboard is bare, they may take their lumps this season but there is a ton of young talent at Lincoln County.

This is a very bad situation for LC. Yeast was promoted to OC in the spring, installed his new offense, the left one day before the season starts. What makes the situation worse is that many people went to bat for Yeast to get the job. This is a very young team and learning a new offense at this point will be a tough task. LC needs stability, they've been through NUMEROUS OC's the past 5 or 6 years. The other thing that makes this a difficult situation is that most schools are fully staffed by this point of the summer. So it almost seems as if the Pats are going to have to promote from within. If so I'd like to see Travis Leffew get a shot. He and Bobby played for a brilliant offensive minded coach at UofL and Travis was a star lineman on those teams that lit up the scoreboard.

If I were Garrard, I would look for new blood.

Wow, that's shocking news. He is a great young coach, hate to see him leave the area.

I was impressed with Clevenger when he was at Lincoln County.

Buchanan would be a solid hire.

This is fantastic news, I saw this story the other day on LC's blog (Patriot Sports Talk). Man, this staff has a lot of major experience and a Head Coach who won coy a few years ago. if they can get the numbers up they'll do just fine. It's hard to do a lot in 5a with 30 players dressing. That number needs to double. Good news, will gladly welcome the Leffew's to Stanford.:thumb:

The biggest problem with the offense last year was injuries. It had nothing to do with play calling, actually the creative play calling actually made a few of the games more competitive (for a half) than they should've been. Last year the team was way too thin, and had too many injuries.

Those Jeffries boys are superb shooters. I was very impressed with them last year, Casey probably played as hard as any team I watched all year.

I think West, McCreary, and Wayne will be the favorites. My darkhorse is the Danville Admirals, I feel like they will have the best backcourt in the region and plenty of experience. Lincoln will be down quite a bit. They will be very young, and I still think they will be competitive. Just not upper tier like they've been. It's hard to replace 4 1000 point scorers, even for Jeff Jackson.:thumb: They have a lot of young talent in the system though, they won't be down for long.
