Big win for LC, end the season on a high note. The wind was a big factor in the game. It was going to come down to who could win in the trenches, and LC's line dominated the line of scrimmage. Carrier and crew had a nice game running the ball for LC. Should of been a shutout, just a bad breakdown on a 70 middle screen to Ray. 4 missed tackes on that play alone. LC returns a lot of players, and have a lot of young kids on the way up. People just need to stick with Coach Settles, he'll get it done.

I think this will be a good game. The teams, despite their records are pretty similar. The one main thing they have in common is a bad defense. I think Garrard has more speed than LC, and I think LC will be able to run the ball on Garrard. It may come down to who has the ball last.

I agree on Madison Southern and Washington Co. But Meade, Mercer and SL are a better football team than Garrard, IMO. I've seen all of them play (including Garrard) and I don't think the would fair to well against those teams.

I think something else that takes away form GC and LC being a good rivalry is that most LC fans think of Boyle County as being their biggest rival, and they don't even play them in football anymore. I agree with you, Garrard and Lincoln seem to get along to well to be rivals. The difference in the size of the schools also play into it I think.

Kind of, still not a sure thing for Mercer though.

The key to this game was Mercer holding LC to 3 points on those two possesions after turnovers. LC's offense had the ball 1st and goal inside the 5 twice and only got 3 points out of it.

Danville is very young and very small. It's a rarity to see them this down, but it happens to every program at some point. They'll be back...

Where the game is played is not the point, Lincoln County students are prohibited from activities until next Monday. It's no ones fault, just a very odd situation. Of course neither team wants to cancel the game, it doesn't really benifit anyone. But, they may be the best option. Hopefully not, I can assure you LC people are blaming PC though.:thumb:

Why would they make this determination this quickly?

I hope they get a chance to make this up, but it doesn't seem very likely. That's why having your bye week the first week of the season (like LC did) puts you at a disadvantage. LC doesn't have any other open dates. Maybe they do play this on Monday, that would be best case scenerio for LC. A forfiet would be too costly $$$.

Good question. Pretty much a no win situation for LC. If they play Friday, they are playing a game with zero preparation, and probably a lot of ill kids. If they don't play they are looking a forfiet, and a lot of $$$ for breaking the gurantee. Not to mention losing the gate/concessions. At this point, I really think it's 50/50 that this gets played.

Man, I would hate to play a football game with no practice all week. That's a tall task to ask, especially if many of the players are/have been sick.

School has been called off in Lincoln County this week, along with that all school activities. Wonder if this game will even be played this Friday?

Looking at the stats, this appears to have the potential to be a very high scoring affair. Hopefully the Pats get enough to stops to pull out the W.

Boyle by a lot, no one in the area can play with the Rebels this year.

This score really shocked me win I saw it. I said GC would name the score in the prediction thread. Mainly going by the fact that Rowan Co., a team Garrard beat earlier in the season, beat Estill Co. 63-7 last week. Now this week Estill beats Garrard. That just doesn't make sense...

No big surprise here. RC dominated the game from start to end, holding LC to negative rushing yards. LC came out with some energy after the half, but had already fell behind too much to make it a game.

Could be Harp's first losing season ever at Danville? Shocking...

My comment wasn't meant to be taken negativley. Rockcastle has had some VERY good teams over the years. I've seen them play against Boyle County this year, and in my opinion there was one great team on the field that night. Boyle County (who is also a 4a team). That's not to say they won't take care of LC fairly easily, but they are not an elite type team this year. They gave up nearly 400 yards rushing to one kid that game alone, so I feel pretty confident in saying that this isn't one of the Rock's all-time great teams. That doesn't mean that they can't be really good. My opinion won't change after Friday, the Rock is a big favorite over the Pats. That's obvious. It may change as the year goes on, but to make a "big run" the Rock would eventually have to beat Boyle Co., and IMO that ain't happening.

I've seen Rockcastle play, they seem to be too much for my Pats. LC improved a lot from week one to two, however they haven't played anyone as good as Rockcastle County in either game. This isn't a great Rock team, IMO, but they should have enough to take care of the Pats. Looking foward to the trip to Mt. Vernon. Usually a good atmosphere for football.

This score surprises me, I thought Garrard would take care of West.

Great game for LC. Over 300 rushing yards. Deon Shannon and Matt Carrier ran the ball well. Vinny Morris had to be the player of the game. He had a couple sacks, fumble recovery for a TD and he blocked a kick. Excited for Coach Settles and his team.
