Great game for LC. Over 300 rushing yards. Deon Shannon and Matt Carrier ran the ball well. Vinny Morris had to be the player of the game. He had a couple sacks, fumble recovery for a TD and he blocked a kick.

That has been mid to late 90's that they were ever a threat to be 1st or 2nd in the district, to the best of my knowledge.

Since opening in 1989, Madison Southern has finished in a top-two spot in the district only once, finishing second to Breathitt County in 2002. They've finished third six times, most recently in 2005. They've finished fourth four times, most recently in 2003. Nine other seasons has seen Madison Southern miss the playoffs.

 

The Eagles have been to the postseason nine times, compiling a record of 4-9. They won at Anderson County (21-20) and at Corbin (28-27, ot) before falling at home to Boyle County (29-28) in the regional final in 1996.

 

They beat Whitesburg (20-15) at home in 2002 before losing big the next week at Belfry (39-6). And they won at Johnson Central (35-28) in 2005 before falling to Bell County (38-7) in 2005. That was their last playoff game.
