  1. Who? Before yesterday, I thought UNC may be able to give Clemson a game but I don't see that now. Miami didn't look like they would be able to either. Unless FSU does some serious leprechaun stomping tonight, I don't see anyone in the ACC who really has much of a chance to beat Clemson. Outside of Clemson, the ACC has some respectable teams but any really good teams?
  2. UK's Defensive was in Lou Monroe's backfield much of the game. The D won't be in Mizzou's backfield as often next week as this week obviously but needs get some penetration to keep pressure on Missouri's QB.
  3. Yeah no kidding. Mizzou didn't beat Central Mich like UK did with Lou Monroe but just from watching the game, Central Mich looked to be a better team than Lou Monroe so Mizzou could be a pretty formidable opponent. I think many UK fans may be assuming a victory when it is anything but certain.
  4. I oftened wondered what happened when Gran moved his system to UK. I'm not saying UK's offense was bad, heck with Gran at UK, in 2018 the team got it's first double digit win season since the mid 70's and won enough in 2019 to go to a bowl without a true quarterback but often it felt the defense carried a bit more of the load in those wins and the offense did good enough to win, but they often were not too impressive. Was it that Gram's system was great in a mid major conference but in a power 5 conference the defensive players are too fast and the defensive systems are to complex? I'm asking, not making an assertion that those are the reasons why his system just seemed to not flourish at UK while it did at UC.
  5. Those dang long haired hippies!!
  6. Not saying I disagree with Holtz, just not quite sure how his being a man of faith, great motivator, inspirational speaker and good author gives credence to his assertion of the make up of players over the last half century. I think someone could have all four of these qualities and being a lousy judge of people over time just as much as a great judge of people.
  7. I think on one side, he is correct that today's athlete's are much more entitlement minded (examples: NIL, skipping out on your team mates by choosing not to play in a bowl, etc.) but on the other, I don't know if players 50 years ago were as duty minded quite to the degree as he portrays. I think 50 years ago players had a bit more of a "its more about the team than it is about me" mindset than today. Whereas today I think players do not have the same degree of dedication to their team and team mates as they used to. So to recap, I would say he is correct to a degree.

    UT names QB

Milton is looking decent but UT is playing Bowling Green soooooo?
  9. If the part of this incident involving the gun goes away due to this polygraph, then this is guys fighting over a racial slur which, while it should not have happened, is no where near as serious a gun being brandished.

    UT names QB

Well, looks like Rocky Top has dug to the bottom of the barrel. Guess he can't be much worse than UT's previous QB? Maybe the kid will catch on in Knoxville? His head coach Huepol (however you spell it) is a former QB (was he a Heisman winner?) so maybe he will find something in Milton Michigan could not. Either way the next 5 or so years could be some LONG years for Orange Nation. Whatever the NCAA hands down is going to hurt and recruiting will be tough for a while. Hopefully the fan base is patient and reasonable with the coaching staff but I doubt it. The UT fan base historically has been even more unreasonable and less out of touch with reality than the UK fan base. This coming from a UK football season ticket holder, lol.
  11. Michigan transfer Joe Milton III. I know nothing about this young man. Can any of the OSU fans add anything? Did he ever see the field while of Michigan?
  12. These giant basketball arenas and football stadiums and world class locker rooms and weight rooms we all marvel at and love didn't build themselves. Ticket sales is no where near enough money. Television is what built them, affords colleges to pay coaches millions, etc., etc.. Cable TV (and later on satellite tv) has transformed college and pro sports from multi-million dollar enterprises to multi-billion dollar enterprises.
  13. The PAC just has to hope and pray no swipes USC or Oregon from them. If that happens, the PAC is in an uglier situation than the Big 12. I do wonder if Big 10 leadership considered offering USC or Oregon to try to match the SEC.
  14. Everything I hear from people who have watched all three in practice is that he and Allen were given a fair chance, they just did stack up like Will Levis did. After Levis graduates will Allen be good enough to start or will he get passed up like Gatewood did by a recruit or transfer? I don't know.
  15. What John Anthony said. He was highly recruited out of high school and was assumed to be the eventual starter at Auburn, he didn't make it at Auburn. Transfers to UK as the assumed successor to Terry Wilson only to lose that position to a transfer in. Being highly regarded and losing out once stinks. For it to happen to you twice is worse.
  16. Will Levis named the starting QB. This news shouldn't surprise anyone. Numerous leaks throughout Spring and Summer saying he looked better skilled than Gatewood or Allen. Gatewood announced he will be transferring from UK. Feel bad for him and hope he finds a school he can succeed at.
  17. Everything I hear the transfer from Penn State is pretty far in the lead for the job. And I think it will take a lot more than a QB for UK to even dream about making it to Atlanta. Yes a skilled QB will help UK against the likes of Ole Miss, Miss St., Mizzou and UofL but the talent at Athens and Gainesville is still too much for UK to ever achieve more than a rare win over UGA or UofF.
  18. Bellarmine has been pondering starting a football program for years. I wonder if this is a way to dip their toe in the water?
  19. Will a funeral director provide death certificates or have to go down to Frankfort to the office of Vital Statistics to get those?
  20. A friend of mine who both he and his wife are only children asked me to be the executor of their estate. I said sure and it was left as that. In order to prove that I am the executor to the court, banks, life insurance, etc. should they pass, is it as simple as their Last Will and Testament naming me as the executor? Or is there a more involved process than that? To get death certificates from the funeral director and/or Office of Vital Statistics, will the Last Will and Testament suffice? I did a search on Google and it provided great info once they pass but very little on how to prepare before hand. Things I can think of I need from friend: -A copy of said last will and testament -Name of the law firm who wrote last will and testament in case I have questions -Life Insurance info to cash in -Info on the home mortgage to pay it off with life ins proceeds -Bank account info and where the check book is kept -Investment info -If vehicles have loans, that info to pay them off -Credit card info to payoff and cancel -List of services that are paid monthly (utilities, cable TV, etc.) so I can cancel them all Any help is appreciated.
