  1. If the Michigan fanbase expects Harbaugh or anyone else to beat OSU on a consistent basis, they are more delusional than UK fans or even UT fans.
  2. Last year, many thought Harbaugh was gone after this season if he even finished the season. He looks to be sitting pretty now that Michigan is #8 even if they fall out of the top ten after playing Penn St., Mich St. and Ohio St., have to think he is safe.
  3. We would still get left out of the playoffs to a traditional power like Oklahoma or Ohio State.
  4. Michigan still has Penn State, Mich State and Ohio State, the season has been good so far for them but I don't see them in the top 10 at the end of the year. Bama will win out and if wins another SEC championship will be back somewhere in the top 4 UC controls its own destiny

  6. It just seems insane we are even talking about this when you look at where we were 10 years ago.
  7. At this point, UK is in great position to go to a New Years Six Bowl wouldn't you think? If they can give UGA a decent game and win out the rest of the season, the Sugar Bowl is a possibility if Bama can regroup and win in Atlanta so both Bama and UGA go to the playoffs?
  8. While the Florida win was more "fun", this win was more encouraging. Liam Coen found something that clicked this week with Levis because the accuracy of his throws were so much improved over that past 3 weeks. 14 for 17 I think I remember? With a one-two punch of effective passing and rushing, UK could score TD's almost at will against a team with 6 5 star players and 43 4 star players. Also, LSU didn't shoot themselves in the foot with numerous penalties like Florida did, UK simply out played them. Granted, as bad as LSU played, UK may have beaten them with just rushing and solid defense, but it would not have been as dominant of a win. If the passing game stays this strong, out side of Georgia, who will play UK within 2 TD's? UT has looked pretty good recently but we probably need to see the UT/Ole Miss game before really knowing how good UT is. I'm just glad all cylinders are now firing for UK and hope they continue the rest of the season.
  9. I laughed at the article that one thing that brought about suspicious was grammatical errors on the invoices. Lol You would think he would proof read before sending them.
  10. If that's the case, why not just pay him 50K a years if he is just going to leave anyways for a bigger job? Note the sarcasm to make a point. Plain and simple, pay him enough to keep several programs from even bothering to make the call to him because they cannot exceed the pay enough to leave the good thing he has now at UK. Now if Sark doesn't make it at Texas, would Stoops turn that down? Of course not. Same with Bama if Lord Saban retires, or OSU or ND if their coaches were to get fired, retire, get hit by a bus, etc.. You just want to pay him enough to prevent him from leaving for a program that really isn't that much better than UK. The best example would be back which Coach Morris left UK for Baylor. Back then, was Baylor REALLY that much of a better program?? Not really, but they cracked open the safe for Morris and he left. Fortunately for UK, Rich Brooks turned out to be a better coach in the long run. However, we now know we have a good coach so let's surround him with a moat made of money to make it difficult for other programs to steal him away. I would be fine with it even if it meant my season ticket prices were to go up to help pay for the new contract. The may not be necessary if the bump up in money coming from the new SEC contract starts rolling in. Show him the money. While they are at it, I would show some money love to the OC, the DC and Vince Morrow to make stealing them more difficult.
  11. Why would someone leave ND for USC?
  12. I agree, Barnhart needs to extend his contract or watch another team steal him away. If UK beats LSU did Stoops just cost Coach O his job and earn his next job if Barnhart doesn't extend his contract?
  13. Do you feel any of the teams after the UGA game are actually better than LSU? I cannot wait to see the atmosphere at Commonwealth Saturday night.
  14. Pretty sure what I really said last week before the game (rather than what you misinterpreted) was for UK to win, they will need some help from Florida such as turnovers and/or for Emory Jones to be as inconsistent as Florida fans have been complaining. In this case, I wasn't too far off. Instead of turnovers, it was the insane 15 penalties committed by Florida. 8 of which (or was it 9?) were drive killing false starts (thanks quite a bit to the UK fanbase in attendance). Also, Gator receivers were fairly successful at getting open versus our db's, Jones was only so-so getting the pass to them as Gator fans have been complaining. Cut the penalties down to normal levels and normal Florida quality passing, I don't see Florida not turning more of those stalled drives into scores and winning that game. As I said pregame, for UK to win, Florida would have to help them with mistakes and Jones be as inconsistent as Florida fans complain about him. Also, luck was with UK for once in terms of where the blocked field goal landed. The ball went right to one of UK's fastest players, one of the few who would not have been run down by Florida players and he had three or more players right in front of him to block for him. That type of thing in the past usually happens to UK's opponents, we finally got one in our favor. I really disagree with a win is a win. A solid win where you out rush your opponent, where you out pass your opponent and where you beat them in third down conversions is far better because you are more likely to repeat that solid play week after week. A win like against Florida, where your opponent out rushes you, out passes you, has a better third down conversion ratio but you still win due to their penalties and deflected field goal going just to the right place is not something you can repeat with any real confidence. If UK and Florida were to play 4 more times, does anyone really feel confident that they would not win three of those games? In regards to LSU, I wasn't beating down UK, I was commenting on a prediction in the thread that said UK would score 31 points by my saying that unless UK fixes the passing game, UK won't score 31 points on decent teams which......I say is a reasonable assertion. When your offense completes 7 of 17 for 82 yards, your offense will have to be very run dominated. Run dominated offenses drain numerous minutes off the clock on successful drives resulting in teams generally not having enough drives to score 31. Unfortunately your opponent will realize your pass game is susceptible and stack the box, further slowing down drives eating more clock, making getting to 31 even more difficult. However, because you ate so much clock, your opponent most likely won't score in the 30's either due to not having enough drives also so I could see this game being a low scoring game if UK sticks with running far more than passing. If UK can fix the passing game and pass the ball like they did against Mizzou, scratch what I said, UK could easily go to the 30's with an effective passing and rushing offense, plus home field advantage. If UK does fix the passing game, I say it is highly unlikely UK will lose to anyone in the regular season not named Georgia, if they do not fix the passing game, I doubt Georgia will be UK's only loss this season. The LSU game I think will come down to two areas: talent versus coaching and UK's run defense compared to their pass defense. LSU has the obvious edge in terms of talent based upon their consistently high recruiting rankings, their coaching so far has not been able to get the most of that talent. UK's recruiting has improved quite a bit, but still not LSU or Florida like. UK I believe has an edge in coaching. Which will come out on top, talent or coaching? In terms of run versus pass defense, UK has really good run defense, their pass defense is a little shaky. This worked out with Florida. Florida came into last Saturday as the 3rd leading rushing team with a very average passing game. UK's defense (with the help of numerous false start penalties to be fair) was able to contain both. LSU (per what I have read at least) relies much heavier on their passing game than Florida and it is supposedly pretty good at passing. How well will UK be able to handle a good pass oriented offense? I do worry their wide receivers will be too fast for our defensive backs. Can UK's linemen, defensive ends and linebackers rush the LSU QB enough to negate the speed advantage of LSU wide receivers? That may determine the game.
  15. Unless UK fixes its passing game this week, I don't see it scoring in the 30's against anyone on the rest of their schedule not named Vanderbilt or New Mexico State. If UK wins, I see it being another victory the Defense gives us.
  16. I wonder what the conversation is on Florida boards tonight?
  17. Same, I am just hoping Emory is as unpredictable as some Gator fans say he is.
  18. This is two years old but is still applicable for this year. I love SEC Shorts, those two guys are hilarious.
  19. Sounds like this tweet is off. The NLRB favors making student athletes employees, they don't have the authority to declare. So far the, the Supreme Court has said student athletes only meet 3 of the 4 requirements to be an employee. They have said student athletes do not meet the requirement that they work in the primary industry of the company. For colleges, that is education and research. Some are arguing that the amount of money athletics brings to colleges helps fund education and research so it could be argued that student athletes actually are actually part of the primary industry.
  20. Scholarships are not taxable in 99% of cases.
  21. UK's D secondary is its obvious weakness. So far UK hasn't played a team good enough to fully exploit that weakness. I have a feeling that will change Saturday evening. If UK's secondary struggles, that will force the linebackers to fall back in to coverage to help the secondary leaving the box thin providing plenty of holes for rushing. Brad White will definitely earn his paycheck this week.
  22. That is how many of us long time UK football fans felt for most years over the past several decades.
  23. I think we know what is going to happen when Florida comes to town.
