Impressive that Trinity scored double digits throughout the entire tournament but never gave up more than three.

Congratulations to Trinity. Well deserved title, they were the best team in Kentucky this year. Trinity was also, by almost any measure, the best program in the state of Kentucky who had not yet won a state baseball championship. They're always good and had twice lost in the finals (Owensboro in 1983; Covington Catholic in 2002) so seeing them get over the hump is great for their fans.

My five best programs without a state championship now looks something like this:

1. Hazard - 14 region titles, 1 state runner-up
2. McCracken County - 7 region titles, 2 state runners-up
3. Apollo - 11 region titles, 4 state semifinal appearances
4. Highlands - 10 region titles, 2 state runners-up
5. Middlesboro - 11 region titles, 4 state semifinal appearances

I would have never guessed Highlands has never won a State championship in baseball.  I just assumed Highlands was like St.X and had atleast one state in all boys sports.

That has to be one of the most dominating runs to a state title ever. Congrats to Trinity.

Almost unbelievable that is their first baseball title. However, I have always said the toughest title to win in KY high school sports is a baseball title. There are so many things that can happen in an individual game and matchup. It is very tough to win or predict who will win a baseball title.
