  1. If this is true, Ted will be a great replacement and has been Gene's assistant for a number of years. Coach Kirk did an excellent job at Sayre winning many games with far less talent. I am sure Kentucky High School basketball will miss him.
  2. Jay Bordas (Henry Clay asst) is the new coach.
  3. I think he signed with IUPUI this week according to Mike Fields Here is the clip: Aaron Morris, who averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds for Madison Central this season, is headed for IUPUI, a Division I school in Indianapolis. The 6-6 Morris, who led the Indians to the Sweet Sixteen as a sophomore, is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,980 points, and had 904 rebounds.
  4. He was invited to play up and attended one practice but decided to not play up and keep his options open. It was no secret WHHS coaches wanted him to play up.
  5. Ivey is not in school at Scott Co. He still goes to Bondurant Middle in Frankfort (Western Hills feeder school). Rumor has it that he will transfer to SCHS next year. That will be kind of unfair to the WHHS staff, who have worked hard to turn that program around the right way, if he does transfer.
  6. Catholic seemed to get a hand on the ball every time on defense. A very good effort by the knights.
  7. It definitely is. Bondurant is 500 feet from Western Hills and they share a football and baseball field. It would be a shame to see Ivey go to Scott Co. or any other school. Hills coaches and players have worked very hard to improve the basketball program.
  8. It is the middle school for Western Hills.
  9. Both teams turned the ball over a lot. WH had 23 turnovers and BS had 20, but the difference was in Stations ability to get back on defense after a turnover and get tranistion points off WH misses and turnovers. Neither team shot the three well. WH hit 3 and BS hit 2. The Defenders really dominated the boards last night 47-26. BS shot 47.8% from the field WH shot 31.1% from the field
  10. Western Hills draws Bryan Station in the region and Franklin County draws Scott County. Tough draw for both teams. Good luck to to both of the 41st district teams.
  11. Congrats to the Flyers on their championship. Also congrats to the Wolverines on a valiant effort.
  12. 1989-90 Dante Gay and Shane Crum 1992 Brian Kiser
  13. 11th region schools voted at the regional AD meeting and it was a tie so it will stay at EKU this year.
  14. Maysville to Winchester isn't so bad; when you live in Maysville you're used to being an hour from anywhere. Good point, but I still think this region is way too spread out. GRC, Bourbon, and even Montgomery are close enough to Lex to be in the 11th (of course they wouldn't want to be, but it still makes sense)
  15. I think it comes down to the 10th being too spread out. They need to look restructuring this region (Maysville and Winchester are way too far apart to be in the same region.) You can get to Frankfort from Winchester before you can Maysville from Winchester.
  16. If you are with a member school you can send them in by going under the MEMBER SCHOOLS LOGIN HERE icon on khsaa.org. You will probably have to get the password from your AD. Otherwise you will have to continue to call them in.

  19. The game was very close. WH got up by 14 and Woodofrd cut it to 4 in the closing minutes. Western Hills will have to work extremely hard to comptete in this district. Franklin Co. has good shooting (Meyer and Hall) and a 6'7 transfer from Lexington Catholic (Donovan), a fast point guard (Hicks) and some very good players to compliment them as well as a deep bench. Woodford has everyone back and a 6'6 transfer from Indiana. Frankfort is really fast and has a ton of heart and as soon as they get some practice time (after football) they will be tough.
  20. I hope they do, but I think if you ask most people they have Franklin County as their pick. Western Hills lost a cllose one to Anderson Co. last night and in overtime to shelby last week. Franklin Co. is still undefeated. But I think we will all agree this will be a very competitive district.
  21. You might be sandbagging a little. Franklin Co. is extremely talented this year and haven't been beaten yet. Woodford also to WH to the wire last night.
  22. Although they always played freshman ball sometimes they did play JV and varsity with Coach Strong. Jerome Embry almost always dressed for varsity games as a freshman in 89-90.
