I think the committee got it right. My only change, conference champs get home games. Give that Texas/Clemson game an 8pm kickoff in Death Valley. Regardless of location, I think Texas wins.

Bored on a Monday morning & went searching for information on the Mexico City track. It can be either an oval or a road course. Looks like from what I found, Nascar will use some variation of the road course. MC - Nascar.pdf

There are 4 locker rooms at the stadium, so getting teams in & out is or at least shouldn't be an issue.

Would more people come or stay for games if they were closer together and they didn't clear the stadium?

Wouldn't the crowds be better if the games were closer together than 4 hours? Give me 3 games in a row. I'm guessing its a "money grab" by the KHSAA to spread the games out. I'd be more interested in going if I could see games back to back. Just doesn't seem like they use the facilities available to get more people there for games.

Time for the Chicago street race to go like the dirt at Bristol......away. Not a fan of Mexico City, but will hold judgment until after the race. I read somewhere of a suggestion for the "playoffs" that I kind of liked. One was, the regular season champ to the "finals", makes consistency in the 1st 26 races mean something. Puts 5 in the championship round. The other was the Round of 16 is 1 or 2 races, and the "championship" then becomes 2 or 3 races.

The college games seems to have a broader scope for replay that doesn't seem to slow the game down much. Plus it doesn't seem to take long in NFL games when the replay official takes a quick look at it. Hell, have the refs on the field "huddle up" for a few seconds while the guy upstairs takes a peak at it & get it right.

I was raised on Kentucky high school basketball. The start to each season now brings back memories of going to games with my grandma & grandpa, who are no longer with us, from a very early age. And now the excitement this year of seeing my youngest dress/play varsity as a freshman and the new memories that are to be made. My greatest memories are going to state tournaments as a family in Louisville/Lexington. I've seen at least 1 session of the Greatest Show in Hoops in all but 2 of my 53 years (I'm not counting the covid year), my 2 boys have not missed a year yet. Watching the whose/who of basketball before the world got to see them on the bigger stages of college/nba. The hotel stays especially if a team was at the same hotel we were.

There is one video I saw on X of an officer just firing off pepper spray in all directions, not really hitting anyone just getting it in the air.

I didn't make it to the 9am St Henry/St Bernard game. Conner over NCH big CCD over Scott in the 5 point range South Laurel/Oak Hills was a 1-3 points, not sure who. SK/LaSalle was a under 5 point game, not sure who SCD over CovCath in 1st quarter by around 5. And then I left. If I missed on point differential, my bad. Wasn't paying too much attention. ? Last 4 games were pretty evenly matched. Varsity played regular game, except score cleared at halftime. JV teams played 2 20 minute halves, score cleared at halftime.

A pleasant surprise for a TNF game. Really expected this to be a FG kicking contest. If you are the Browns, how do you go back to Watson? The offense just looks completely different with Jameis under/behind center.

Not sure why the KHSAA does the classes the way they do. That's why I asked. Because it doesn't make sense to me to have set numbers at 1 & 6, and then split up 2-5. I was raised on HS basketball & 1 state champion. I've gone to high school football games for as long as I can remember, but never really cared enough to follow it as closely as you & others in this group clearly have. Before my son started HS 3 years ago, we just always went to whatever we thought would be the best game in NKY, regardless of who was playing.

I could go for this. And I'd add in @Voice of Reason's idea of a minimum win #. I don't understand why they don't take the total # of teams now & divide by 6 and have as close to the same # of teams in each class. Why is it that 1 & 6 have 36, and then its divided up?

This morning on tv, WCPO had 1/2" or less Boone/Kenton/Campbell north, 1"+ south of B/K/C. And she prefaced that with "don't expect to reach these totals".
