Bishop Brossart 31 Walton-Verona 6
I heard rumors his father and Jeff McCarthy are on his staff. That's a heck of a group of Offensive minds. Smart move from a 1st year Coach.

Congrats to Adam! Here is to forging his own path and leading the Mustangs for years to come. Coached and was around him for years and couldn't be prouder. The Mustangs got a good one!

Open Job: Boone County
This job search has been very quiet.

Covington Holy Cross names Curt Spencer head football coach
Congratulations Coach Spencer.

Open Job: Covington Holy Cross
I could see a scenario where maybe he gets the HC job and brings a veteran coach like Coach Moore back. That could be a great combo!! Giving him the vet in his corner and the program getting a youthful shot of energy.

To not contradict my post from earlier about Adam K. While not the same sport. I do believe NP III has been a head freshman basketball coach for a few years. So he does have some experience.

Open Job: Covington Holy Cross
If the above rumor is true. I think it could be a sneaky good pick up. I have known NP-III for years. While he is young, he has alot of experience both on and off the field. He was a great player and has been around (maybe not hands on) alot of coaching in his young tenure. Even as a player and after high school he was always helping others understand the nuances of the game. I believe he is teaching at Holmes right now and coached at Scott this past season. Count me as a huge fan!! And a big believer in this young man.

Scott Hires Justin Franklin as new Head Coach

NKY Coaching Carousel
When coaching football in high school (especially NKY) it is and never was about the money. It's always been about the kids/players first. Every coach accepts that from the start. Unfortunately when the parents and players started making it about me, me,me. It has taken away all the incentive for Coaches to spend their time trying to guide, teach and cultivate these young men. It makes the situation not worth it.

NKY Coaching Carousel
I can tell you from my own point of you it has. I made the decision a few years ago to stop. The demands from 30 years ago till now is shocking. I personally realized as much as I love the sport of football, I loved having a little bit of a life more.

Which is a shame. Taylor Mill and bordering areas have produced fantastic football players over the years. Weather they stay at Scott or go elsewhere. Is this a reason for student athletes leaving?

NKY Coaching Carousel
Would Harrison Co technically make it 5? Or are they not considered NKY?

Open Job: Boone County
I hate to be that guy. But what does any of this have to do with the down turn of participation and results in the football program and field?? I have been involved and around sports in NKY for 30 years. Financial demographic has never resulted in touchdowns, 3 pointers, homeruns or any other results in sports. Most counties have differing demographics of some sort. Unless there is a blatant have and have not situation between the 4 schools. How does it give one the advantage or disadvantage to getting participation?

Have they begun interviews or gotten the ball rolling yet? Surely Mustang must have a say in the new coach right?

Open Job: Boone County
Basically I just can't understand how free and reduced lunch equates to results on a football field or numbers in a program. Seems like a terrible and not very thought out excuse. Because "Jimmy" and his parents have a tough time financially, "Jimmy" can't be good at football?? The second part is St.Henry starting may make the situation even worse.

No hiring in sight?? Serious question to the (if there is any) Scott insiders. Does the instability of the Administration and all of the normal KCSD hoops make this job even worse? I understand not having a great football tradition, but the other things don't make it easy there either. Could that be why things always seem to move slowly there. In regards to hiring coaches.

I also believe he has the middle school turned around and trending upward. Weren't they in the championship game this year?

Are there any current staff members that would be interested in this? Or is the school looking to clear house?

I would think Coach Black is happy where he is. I believe he left the HS ranks because of the 7 day a week grind. Although I think he would be pleased with your endorsement. As someone stated above. Have you put your application in?

I understand they have dedication and am sure almost all of them are great guys and great at what they do. My thought is if it hasn't worked so far, then you have to clean house. Countinuly having staff carry over HC to HC, bringing the same culture every year. It won't change the results after all this time. I just pray they have a solid plan! Off season-wise they are getting to the important part of it. With No hire

2024 Simon Kenton Pioneers
To me this sounds like the classic "copy and paste" situation. Off-season of They will win 7-9 games. Have an explosive offense and need to fix the defense. Regular season win 3-5 games. Offense scores points and the defense can't stop anyone. Complain about the coaching and injuries till Dec 31. Rinse and Repeat.

St. Henry names Tim Odom coach of their inaugural football team
Didn't Brossart make the playoffs their 2nd or 3rd year? Or something along those lines?

While I agree with you 100% Allow me to play devils advocate. If I'm applying for a Head coaching job. I should at least have a good idea or the majority of my staff tentatively in place. Relying on staff members currently there isn't a solid game plan. Obviously in most situations that staff was let go for a reason. Hence playing into the mediocrity or settling for what you can get. Then you have to ask yourself as an AD. I'm I hiring the right person? Just my 2 cents and I apologize for the long winded response.
