Bishop Brossart 31 Walton-Verona 6

Congrats to coach Adam Kozerski on his first win as head coach. Brossart was up 14 to 0 at half, and then added a late touchdown to get the final of 31 to 6. 

Brossart was able to hit a few big pass plays on offense that was the big difference in this one. Walton-Verona played hard defensively but struggled offensively all game. WV was without their top two QBs in this game, and then lost their 3rd string qb in the second quarter. Brossart defense did a great job all game at being aggressive against the run and pressuring the QBs. WV will hopefully be able to get healthy soon and get their qb back in a few weeks.

Our Mustangs ushered in the Adam Kozerski era by taking to the air, as Tyler Holtz connected on four touchdown passes, one each to Anthony Schuck, Cam Mandel, Landon Ruth and Isaac Amin, plus a 25 yard Field Goal by SoccerStang, Max Runge, who was perfect on all four PAT attempts added up to a Brossart 31-6 win in Verona.   Runge was 1-2 on Field Goal attempts missing wide from 35 yards out, and knocking home a second try from 25 yards away.  He also kicked two kick-offs through the back of the end-zone for Bearcat touchbacks.

The lone Walton touchdown was scored when Bearcat big man Gavin Gaines (6-3, 305) ripped the ball from a Mustang ball carrier, setting up a 10 yard run by quarterback, Trace Dalton mid-fourth quarter.  The 2-point attempt was no good.

Brossart will move on to face North College Hill in Cincinnati next Friday night.

Who is currently out for Walton? Who/What will they be missing week 2 against NewCath? I noticed serveral Brossart players in shorts as well...
