Highlands 28 Ryle 24
Ryle controlled the line of scrimmage and after Highlands cut the lead to 24-21, Ryle on the ensuing possession comes out with three straight passes? Pick 6. SMH.

Covington Catholic 42 Beechwood 14
For CovCath to make a deep run in the playoffs they have to be able to throw the ball. They can’t with any consistency. The only thing stopping Highlands is if they choose not to put ball in Lorenzen’s hands at QB.

New KHSAA transfer rule?
At this point does it really matter what rule the state comes up with? Until it turns into if you transfer you aren't allowed to play for a year or aren't allowed to play in the post-season for a year, and there is no exceptions, nothing is going to change. Honestly this comes off like typing something up to make a group of people feel better, but this is the equivalent of going from happy to glad.

2026 Coaching Carousel (Job Openings)
How would this work as a student? How can leave a college half way thru one semester, enroll at another, and be eligible. That is perplexing to me.

Bengals 31 Jaguars 27
That was my exact thoughts this morning. Just need an older guy over there who can slow things down for Browning if need be. Dalton, Tyrod Taylor, Jacoby Brissett. It won't be Cousins- no way they take on that salary.

Best Programs who haven't won a state title yet
My reasoning for Boone Co is the fact that every title game they played in was back when it was 4 or less classes. From the late 70's- 90's Boone County had a lot of good teams that never got it done on the big stage. For many years they were as good or better than Beechwood, Covington Catholic, or Highlands, which is basically what every school in NKY is compared against when it comes to having a great program. I would also agree that the best days at Boone County are behind them as well. What is actually ironic about the Boone County school district is that for all the great teams the four schools have had combined there has been only one school to win a state title, and that was Conner in (I believe 1983). I know Ryle played in the title game last year but I honestly wonder if any 6A program in NKY (Boone, Kenton, Campbell) is ever going to get over the old 4a/new 6a hurdle. I think the gap is closer, but I still don't see it happening unless they decide to close one of the high schools in Boone Co. and go back to having just three. I also don't think that would ever happen either.

Best Programs who haven't won a state title yet
Historically speaking the answer to this one is Boone County.

Cowboys Netflix Documentary
Has anyone watched the new documentary on Netflix about the Cowboys? A few of the episodes are pretty good. Outside of that, it is a back tap to Jerry Jones.

By law you have to offer a public education system. Hence you need teachers. Spirit wear is regulated in schools and has to follow direct guidelines, unless you are in a private school where you can do whatever you want. Jostens and whoever get deals to sell rings and other items because they are connected to purchasing graduation outfits. The rest of what you are saying is free enterprise I get what you’re saying, but with public schools there are always regulations. Based on what one of the earlier posts said, it appears they knew there was a policy but didn’t follow it. Mentions it being a practice. Did they take admission for the game? I think I saw a post where the original complaint mentioned it being a recruiting video. C’mon now. In some cases it is nothing more than piling on the Cooper AD. If they set up guidelines and it is within their rights to and policy wasn’t followed and admitted by the one fellow then what’s the beef other than to smear.

Schools only need reasonable suspicion to search on school grounds. This primarily pertains to students on school grounds. Law enforcement may assist but the standard will probably go to probable cause. Ever heard of dogs being brought on campus and doing searches etc.

True, I’m just playing devils advocate. Way in the weeds. Videographers can film from stands too, then it really shouldn’t be a problem then, correct?

Uh False. Try reading signs when you enter school property.

Parents have rights to say child shall not have their information including photos to be used for public consumption. That’s on file at schools. Public events true, but you don’t have unlimited rights. Just as by entering premises your car could be subjected to search. We are in the weeds a bit here but legally my assumption is their argument would hold up in court.

You are paying for access. Here at WFTM out of Maysville for example. We have to pay $125 to broadcast district basketball tournament. $300 to broadcast regional tournament. More than that to provide video. It is similar for the state tournament when we broadcast the state tournament. You are paying for access. I can see why everyone wants to jump in and get a piece of the pie. Try to catch up with that next prospect to profit. You all do know when the Jasper Johnson’s of the world go to prep academies and you hear about the amount of money they are getting, you do know that the bulk of that money comes from their social media. They get a bunch for YouTube, IG traffic and so forth. In return they pocket that money, but often times in lieu of future earnings of pro contracts. I’m not trying to besmirch the profession at all. Go do what you love. Access comes with a price and limitations.

Flip side, school could take legal action against unauthorized use and publishing of students. It’s silly season. Parents pay these people to come and shoot/tape these games. No one, I don’t think, is saying they can’t come and do their thing. They can do it from the bleachers. Would they still do it? Just because you have a camera means you are media.

Legacy media is dead. Again is BGP, NKY Tribune and such there reporting and covering a game or profiting off 16 year olds?

I had seen some of this out there. School is put in a tough spot because they can’t respond to every social media complaint. I was told that it wasn’t a student and no request was submitted. Lastly, don’t buy the whole piece of these being recruiting videos. College coaches just chuckle at these video clips. They trust their eyes, coaches, in person camps, and hudl film. These social media clips may show a great run or catch, but they don’t show speed within first ten yards off the ball, do they block, do they get off press coverage, do they run multiple routes and lastly do they have the grades? It’s just silly. Recruiting video!!! False. You don’t see these people videoing a kid studying or taking a test or serving on student council, doing community service but if they “Moss” a 5’5 cornerback and tap their head it’s on IG and other outlets.

As I was told and I believe NKY AD’s have had this policy in place for a year or two. You request access or a credential prior to game day and then you are afforded access. Friends in eastern Kentucky are looking to do something similar. How the school chooses to handle it is up to them. I’d imagine requests are heavier for a school like Ryle than say Dayton. I agree with you on credentialed media, especially with so much media becoming digital. Are you there reporting and covering a game or are you there for personal profit?

I would agree and only school affiliated personnel should be down there. Just because you have a camera doesn’t mean you’re credentialed media. Appears to be far too many people down there profiting off kids.
