Male and Bullitt East are also on the side with X Manual and South Warren.

I think Trinity and X are on opposite sides of the brackets. I may not fully understand it but think Districts 1-4 are grouped on one side and 5- 8 on the other. As I understand it X would be grouped with Manual and South Warren and would not play Trinity until the final if X can get there. Again I might not understand this fully.

I hope X’s players don’t read this. They need to be focused and take care of business Friday. It’s the night they can lock up the district and work on eliminating mistakes. if X wants to play 8 more games they better treat every “ next game” as the most important one.

X hasn’t been physical for years. The team was flat and not prepare to play at all. The offense has to utilize other kids in addition to Harbin. It looked like Ryle in the playoffs last year. Boyle was physical. X wasn’t.

The personal foul after the play when St X's defense held on 3 down was troubling. The fumble on the punt was an unfortunate event while making a great effort. A personal foul at a critical moment is hard to understand.

There was nothing dirty about the hit. (I actually saw it.) It was just like RVaughn described above. No idea how to coach a kid to "tackle the player correctly" (softly) running at full speed in a hotly contested game.

Atherton played very well and has exceptional team speed. There was a pass break on a third down in the second half where Atherton was called for a personal foul for hitting the receiver and separating the ball. Looked a lot like football. It kept a Manual scoring drive. The call changed the game.

Officiating is bizarre and hurting Atherton never saw a holding call on a touchback until tonight!

X made several mistakes in the third quarter, but then steadied themselves and reasserted control. That should help with confidence in close games going forward. The defense, kick return and running game were each very strong.

Cheering for Trinity in this game will be like cheering for the lions against a baby gazelle.

With the schedule PRP has keeping it afloat might be a challenge. Scheduling Trinity, Franklin County, Male, Manual and St X is a pretty brutal line up for a program that has struggled.

I feel bad for the PRP kids.

One challenge in coaching middle school is the vast differences in kids physical development. Some kids are well into puberty while others are not at all. The difference each year makes is huge in strength and speed. The difference in these kids will be much less significant by sophomore year. You don't want to discourage a kid from playing but if he can't physically compete yet its really hard to play the kid. This is especially true when the other team doesn't pull their starters. Getting their clock cleaned discourages kids who may grow 6 inches and add 50 pounds as they hit high school from continuing to play. The other issue is kids who simply are terrible can pose a safety risk to themselves and others. It makes figuring out playing time and how to get them in a game very difficult.

PRP adding Trinity doesn't seem like a good idea for PRP's kids.

ST X is not playing Ryle or Floyd Central. They are adding Owensboro and Boyle County.

The principal is staying until the end of the year and it has been her plan for at least 3 years to retire at the end of this school year.
