Burrow’s contract
These contracts are too complicated to decide based strictly off total value and the length. The Bengals could structure a signing bonus, # of years, roster bonus, incentives, etc to make a compelling contract that could keep Higgins in Cincy.

I expected more out of the Lions' pass rush.

Dixie Heights at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates
More often than not he is blitzing out of a LB position and getting good pressure. I think teams struggle to contain him because he comes from different spots and doesn't hit the same place on the O-Line over and over again. Dixie's defense is very much feast or famine, but they are basically successful every time Rice gets pressure on the QB

Bengals at Browns Predictions/Updates
The Jaguars at 13-4 and the top seed is a hot take for sure. There's no legit weapons on offense outside of the QB (and he ain't Mahomes or Burrow) and the defense can't be trusted to carry them to victories consistently.

Lions 21 Chiefs 20
Chiefs are sneaky hurt right now, plus Chris Jones still looks like he won't be playing per his contract situation. I think it's more likely that this game is down to the wire as opposed to a Chiefs rout.

Will Boyle County go undefeated this year?
Is he a D1 athlete? I saw him last year at Danville and I thought so, but I don't follow college recruiting super close. If he is, does he project more as a WR or RB?

Dixie Heights at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates
Rice is a stud. I've seen Dixie twice this year and I'm leaving each game saying that he should be more involved in the offense. I would think that you want to get your best athletes on the field.

Mercer County at Danville Predictions/Updates
Mercer wins this with a running clock.

Scott County at Boyle County Predictions/Updates
More than 30 is a lot, especially against a great defense like Boyle. That's basically 5 TD drives. How many drives does each team get in a typical HS game? 7-12? I just can't see them driving down the field that often against this defense, unless they are gifted seriously good field position from special teams and turnovers. Scott County hasn't played anyone tough this year so far. The teams they have played own a combined record of 3-6. The level of competition is about to get dramatically turned up. Speaking of scout teams being unable to adequately prepare for a game, there's no team in the state (maybe Freddy D) that can properly simulate the level of athleticism that Boyle has.

Scott County at Boyle County Predictions/Updates
Freddy D at the end of regular season is going to be a tough game and Corbin is likely waiting for them at Kroger Field. So it's possible that they lose one of those. I don't think they will, but it wouldn't be a total shocker either.

Bengals at Browns Predictions/Updates
I can't imagine Burrow not playing in this game. 24-14 Bengals

Scott County at Boyle County Predictions/Updates
Boyle has always done very well against teams that are one dimensional. I know Scott County can throw it, but they definitely lean on their rushing attacking more. I think Boyle takes this one and it isn't particularly competitive. Boyle 40 Scott County 20

Warren (CA) at Woodford County Predictions/Updates
I just wonder what compels a team like Warren to travel to Versailles and play this game. This isn't nationally known program like Trinity or a perennial powerhouse like Boyle or Freddy D. It has to be incredibly expensive to travel this far.

I don't know if they will turn, Spencer Crutchfield is one of their own. I think he has a lot of leeway in that community.

Beechwood 49 Dixie 48 (OT)
I think this narrative of Dixie being undisciplined is a little overdone. From what I can remember, last night there was only 2-5 penalties on Dixie. Granted, one came at a very bad time and gave Beechwood a second chance that they capitalized on, but I didn't leave last night thinking that it was their inability to play disciplined football that cost them the game. I thought it had more to do with Beechwood's WRs making great catches and taking advantage of every opportunity they had.

Beechwood 49 Dixie 48 (OT)
The Oxford Dictionary's second definition for flat is "lacking interest or emotion, dull and lifeless." I don't know how else you could have described Beechwood when they were down 27-14. That's not to say that they can't recover that emotion and interest later, they definitely did in the second half. So "flat" seems like a reasonable word to retain in our vocabulary.

Boyle County 56 Danville 0
As far as RPI goes, Boyle does a great job of playing tough teams throughout the year that one weak game against Danville doesn't have much of an effect. LCA, Scott County, Lex Cath, and Freddy D are more than enough for the Rebel's RPI. Now as far as fielding a competitive rivalry game? That's been gone for a few years now and doesn't look like it will be competitive again for another decade plus.

Bullitt Central 7 Garrard County 0
The defense isn't the problem. That's two weeks in a row they've given up 14 or less.
-
Boyle County 56 Danville 0
Is that 11 yards on 19 rushes or (-11) on 19 rushes? Either way, it's hard to believe that's where this rivalry is at now.

Beechwood at Dixie Heights Predictions/Updates
Muffed punt return about ruined Dixie. Dixie has it about 40 yards to go with 7 seconds.
-
Bullitt Central at Garrard County Predictions/Updates
Where is Garrard's offense this year?

Beechwood at Dixie Heights Predictions/Updates
They could block another punt.

Beechwood at Dixie Heights Predictions/Updates
Didn't think they were going to have enough time they were moving. Best pass by Gregg all game.
