I have only seen a small amount of their offense but they seem to run a spread formation but do run it up the middle a lot. They average around 12 pass attempts per game and 30 rush attempts per game. They do have the second leading rusher in 5A from a yardage perspective.

It is true. Call it whatever you want but Dixie's staff was calling out the plays during the first Varsity meeting and the JV game. Having the signals didn't seem to matter much in the first game. But for that reason, HHS decided to huddle before each play. Didn't slow them down much at all. Dixie also sent film last week with plays removed from both games for some reason which seemed odd.

Looks like SW now has turf so not as big of an issue but Steady rain in the forecast Friday afternoon and dropping temps in the evening could make things a little interesting.

I believe O’Hara is a sophomore and Ryle also shut them down pretty well. I also don’t think throwing it 50 plus times and abandoning the run will work in this game like the HHS game. Who can prepare and adjust best in a week and make in game adjustments will be key. I feel This is a 1 score game either way.

Most intriguing game of round 2 for me. Two very different styles of play. In my opinion, even though Cooper is effective throwing the ball, they need to establish the run game a little bit. They will also need to efficient and score on most drives as they won’t get as many possessions as usual. I felt Lex Cath established the run vs. Scott Co. and it really helped them in that win. Scott co. Is tough to prepare for in a week but Cooper did see them last season. Should be a good game.

Looking at 5A Team Defensive stats for Dixie, it says they have only given up 374 rushing yards all season. I know Highlands rushed for 421 against them in one game. Something isn't right.

I assume they are not able to vote either if they don't pay the fee?

Never said it was about last year. Someone mentioned he shouldn't have been considered until this season and I disagree. I feel like he was snubbed this year. I think that is a likely scenario in round 2 although both teams have solid opponents this week. I assume the voters have some issues with Coach Sphire.

Swept district last year and this year. Should have won both seasons. This season a 4-6 3rd place head coach won.

Benke just passed Beau Hoge on the Highlands total TD list and is now sitting at #3 all time. He needs 14 more I believe to pass Lorenzen. Don't think he can catch Towles for #1. Towles had 57 total TDs his senior year. Benke sits at 43 TDs this season and 83 for his career. Not sure where he falls in Mr. Football conversation but has put together a nice career. If the Birds make a deep run I think he will make Mr. Frakes list. Maybe ?

Adding a middle school program is a smart move. May be tough at first but would provide a nice funnel of players in future years.

Looks like their enrollment is at around 460. Assume around half are boys that puts them at the 2A level I believe. So eventually same district as Beechwood?

RPI factors in many things. One thing it does not factor is Margin of victory. What hurts Cooper is they only beat one team with a winning record (6-4 Bardstown). They will struggle vs. Scott Co. in round 2 unless they can stop their run game.

In 5A, I like Graves Co. vs. Greenwood and Dixie vs. Woodford Co.
