Teaser Preview: The objective for Cooper remains the same this week: survive and advance. How they get there won't look anything like Round 1 against Collins. Beating the Titans means containing one player, Kade Goodin. And in that task, the Jags excelled.

Scott County is a different animal altogether. The Cards field a dizzying array of ball carriers and receivers that must be accounted for and a quarterback that operates the offense like a magician. Andrew Hickey makes you think the ball is here, but it's really there. Is Jacob Fryman rumbling between the tackles, or is Thomas Feickert working off them? Perhaps it's a jet sweep to Ellis Huguely? Maybe it's all performance art to get the defense to bite on a play fake so Hickey has a clean passing lane to Elijah Lilly or Isaac York. Pick your poison.

Cooper's poison is administered by Cam O'Hara, with most of his 2,700 yards and 39 touchdown passes split between Isaiah Johnson and Austin Alexander. Keagan Maher provides balance with over 800 yards on the ground.

Defensively, eyes will be on Cardinal secondary mates Paul Garner and Buddy Collins to handle the Johnson/Alexander duo.

Alexander will pull double duty, teaming with Jack Lonaker to solve the wing-t's riddle.

They failed a year ago, as Scott County unleashed over 500 yards of offense and 56 points to send Cooper packing in the first round. We'll find out how far the Jags have come this week.

This is an interesting game!

Cooper is sneaky real good. If Scott Co doesn’t have the personnel / plan to cover Alexander it could be troublesome. I see Cooper scoring over 30 points. If they can hold Scott Co and limit the their clock management, Cooper can definitely win this game. 

I don't think Cooper can stop the run, I expect the game to be closer than last year.

Scott Co has the backend to cover Cooper. Then there is of course their version of the wing-t. The scout team at Cooper is going to have a miserable week trying to replicate that. Scott Co wins with maybe a score that looks a little closer than what the game really is.

I assume you think Scott County has one of the best secondaries in the state then, since you say they have the backend to cover Cooper?

That is what I was thinking he had to be thinking.  

They are better on the backend then they’ve been in a few years and past teams with players like Key and Crowdes they’ve been able to hold their own. Cooper doesn’t have the kids Boyle has. Scott Co has the dudes. 
 

Do they have one of the best secondaries in the state? I don’t know. I know they can answer the bell though.

Buddy Collins and Timmy Emongo of Scott county are pretty good in the secondary both will likely end up playing D1 CB at the next level.

How many future D1 players does Scott County have on their roster? 

Both cb have D1 offers.

Boyle threw for 330 and 3 TDs with 3 incompletions vs Scott Co, but I don’t think Cooper will be able to stop the ground game and replicate that through the air. I’ll take the Cards. 

Cooper Air attack shouldn't be compared to Boyle's. 

If O'Hara airs it out and gets a big lead. It will be hard for SC  to keep up. I think the Jags defense can slow them down also.
