Ashland has to play mistake free and keep penalties to a minimum. The O-line seems to be working good together now and hopefully the defense shows up and plays all 4 quarters not just the 4th.

There’s no easy answer back in the early 80’s when I was in school it was district champions only with 11 game regular season which for Ashland was 9 pay games as Boyd and Greenup Counties were the only other teams in our district. My brother when they won state in 90 was district champ and runner-up and now we get top 4 and 10 game regular season. I still believe the regular season should be the burden of proof for making the playoffs and to that end giving the district champions a bye while 2vs3 cross district games take place and allowing those 4th place teams to pickup an optional 11th game if they so chose. I still don’t like 6 classes in KY but knowing we’ll never see 4 again even dropping to 5 would take an act of God.

Ashland no where near what they need to be for Belfry. The got lucky with East the first time and should be a close one.

I’m just wondering what happened to both defenses for the most part. This has to be the most combined points in a game for these two. Really thought Russell had the right game plan with throwing the ball as long as they weren’t forced into passing every down and Ashland finally got the ground game going. Congrats to Russell on another good season. Ashland can enjoy this tonight and get back to work for East Carter next.

Ashland’s corners and safety don’t seem to realize the concept of pass defense but it has been a problem all season for them.

MyTownTv will have it for free and being at Russell should be their Russell team doing the broadcast so I’ll watch it with volume off and listen to Dicky being overly dramatic on the radio?

If Jones can go and be effective it’ll be a big boost to Ashland’s defense. I don’t know what his injury was in the Russell game but with 5 or 6 minutes to go in the game he was playing hurt. If Ashland can get the offensive line working better it should be a coin flip on who wins but if Ashland can’t run their defense is going to be wore out by the 4th quarter.

I know over the weekend Ashland was looking but listening Friday night if they didn’t find someone by Monday they’d get ready for the playoffs which is probably best having played without 3 starting linemen against Greenup 1 gone for the year with ACL not sure if the other 2 would be back in time for Russell rematch or not either.

Ik Fairview gets the scraps leftover from Ashland and Boyd Co and they’ve down on talent right now but you’d think Raceland would’ve called off the dogs early. I heard the score during Ashland Russell game in the first half and it was already a running clock.

Don’t blame Tony for getting the penalty after the PI but replay didn’t look like PI but maybe holding. I knew if Ashland committed the penalties like the first 2 games of the year Russell would win. Congrats to Russell
