Pardon has been a great addition to the receiving corp for sure and he’s been in some big plays on defense. I believe he’s the transfer OK I don’t know what brought him or his family to our area.

When I was at Ashland we played Russell on homecoming every other year and we lost both times during the early 80’s but I think it may have been homecoming for you guys too when we visited so it always got hyped big that week almost as much as Ashland vs Boyd but as far as filling up Putnam the Russell and Ironton games would be standing room only crowds.

Should be a game like we had in the early 80’s always knock down drag out fight till the end. If Ashland avoids the dumb penalties it may come down to a FG at the end.

Grew up with Putnam Stadium in my backyard but I never played organized football I was baseball thru and thru but my lil brother was the football baseball and basketball player. I’d started going to Ashland games in 77 while in junior high school had several close friends that played during our high school years 80-83 seasons. My brother played 87-90 was starting left tackle and defensive end his junior and senior seasons winning the state title in 90 and going on to play left tackle at Marshall and playing for 3 straight national 1AA title and winning one before second knee and shoulder surgery ended his playing days. Our dad always said he’d be a coach or in congress he became a teacher and coach and dragged me into filming for them for 22 years. But Friday nights there’s nothing like it especially when old Putnam is packed.

So far it’s the Ashland team we saw the first 2 weeks penalty wise.

Having seen Raceland I figure it’ll be close and they’ll probably win but I do like rooting for the underdog at times.

Prayers for coach and his family. May not have always liked him as a coach but he is a good one.

Ashland again over 10 penalties, 2 turnovers and secondary lit up by GW. The improved the turnover numbers after 9 in the first 2 games but giving teams second and third chances with dumb penalties on defense then holding penalties at the wrong time when driving down the field doesn’t help with this young team. The defense gave Ashland a chance in the second half trailing 28–14 at the half but with just over 3 minutes to go GW scored to go up 14.

Ashland hasn’t released any numbers of students or staff in quarantine. My son said yesterday there was only a couple kids absent in his classes but overall there was a lot absent at Blazer.

I’d love to see Russell win this one but you got the Ohio refs to deal with too but if they keep tgeir heads in the game I think they can do it.

Ohio governor just asked the state DOE to look into the school this afternoon. I watched 1 quarter of the game Sunday and thought they weren’t worthy of playing in that game but didn’t realize they’d played Friday night too.

That last 15 yd penalty on Ashland was a bad call from looks of video but they’ve been their own worse enemy again tonight 2 turnovers and 85 yards in penalties in the first half.

Didn’t realize between East and West Carter they had that many kids. Greenup Co stated they had 400 quarantined out of 2700 this week. Ashland and Boyd Co haven’t released any information on quarantined students. My son goes to Blazer and has 5 friends quarantined from contact with Covid positive student.

If Raceland shows up with the same mental attitude and execution they could pull the upset again this week. Russell needs it offense to be clicking on all cylinders and the defense to control the line of scrimmage and they win a tight one at home.

Congrats to Raceland I figured they could get the win tonight. Ashland still has some growing to do but the QB to not have taken a snap since the 8th grade after missing all of his freshman year with an injury looked pretty good. Raceland should make a strong run into the playoffs.
