I believe this past week he was offered a full ride football scholarship to Centre College. In addition to being a great athlete he has the academic credentials to back it up. There’s been a few pics post on FB by his family and how he’s not letting this hold him back.

Ok now that everyone on FB knows this I’m posting this information about a car accident in the early morning of 4/14/24. TayTay Thomas rb/lb was involved in a major accident breaking his back and sending bone splinters into his spinal column. He for now is paralyzed from the midsection down. He was life flighted to Nationwide children’s hospital in Columbus yesterday. Not sure when the surgery will take place. Our local Texas Roadhouse for the next 2 weeks is taking donations for his family travel and lodging expenses. I think but not sure they’re matching the donations. He has 3 or4 brothers and sisters. All they’ve asked for is prayers for their son.

Whoever comes in at Fairview needs to get their middle school teams built up to feed the high school. It won’t happen overnight but has got to be done if they want 40+ players at high school level.Raceland didn’t shy away with their schedule this year. They lost close one to Ashland and got pounded by Highland. I think if raceland squeaks by in a close one.If JC controls the line of scrimmage it’ll be close but I don’t think they got the spend and ability to cover CC receivers and backs. Probably CC by 3 scores maybe more.They’ve always fought hard even JC loss with under a minute to go getting to within 3 points. They bring back 6 on each side of the ball linebackers will be hardest to replace as 3 of them were 3 year starters with plenty of playing time as freshman.Congrats to Cov Cath. From listening to the game from Dickie we were just rushing 3-4 on d line and that’s what we had been doing since JC game not making excuses here because we didn’t have enough speed to cover all the play makers for CC but to abandon the defense we ran for the first 8 games of the year is just a little upsetting. We need a few things to go our way tonight but we did we didn’t covert. It was nice to see Lybrant running the ball for the first time since his injuring. We lose 16 seniors but only a handful started and we got several freshman and sophomores that played quite a bit so we should be pretty good not sure of top 4-5 in 4A but still a force.I’m not watching live stream but if Ashland is only rushing 3-4 guys on d line it’ll be running clock before halftimeMy brother was starter on special teams as a sophomore and his 90 class won state. 89 season we lost in regional to Belfry 34-14 the day after we lost our dad to cancer. That game comes in as #2 by most accounts #1 is 90 semifinal verses Bell Co 19-14 win. It’s truly hard to figure out all the great games that have been played in the old stadium you got the mid 60’s and mid 70’s teams having several great games. We won probably as much as we lost some but you always knew you left everything out on the field.This wasn’t anywhere close to normal behavior for Ashland and why I thought Chad may have added gasoline to the fire at the end. I’ve got much respect for Harrison Co but the officials let the game get extremely chippy by the end and the TD that wasn’t still doesn’t sit well with me. I think most of the kids wanted to shake hands but the staff all but forced them to the end zone and normally they would shake hands then go to the end zone to sing the school anthem and the seniors would lock arms after the other team leaves the field and walk to the other end zone then go off to locker room. I didn’t get to see what happened as video from MyTown cut off and I didn’t go to booster club meeting Tuesday night to see their actual game film that was still going.Chad tried telling the officials twice but they wouldn’t budge off the call. Ashland had called a running play thinking the ball was at the 4 yard line. The officials had let the game get too out of hand in the second half. I felt bad for Harrison Co because of the bad calls began in the first quarter and they had 105yards in penalties. I still think Chad making the team go to the end zone was more than likely a bad move. To Harrison credit they had lined up at the 50 to shake hands. IMO the Ashland staff maybe thought the emotions were still in play and didn’t want to chance of a fight happening is the only reason as they told the team to head to the end zone. I’ve seen worse games but Ashland always shook hands in the end.Should be a good game but gut tells me even if Ashland plays nearly flawlessly that Cov Cath should win. Hope that everyone comes out uninjured.Don’t know why but imo not shaking hands at the end was somewhat of an unprofessional move. There was plenty of bad behavior by both teams.Ok I’m so use to PI 15 yds being enough for a first down but friend of mine just told me. PI was good for half the distance and replay of 4th down. Still I think on film you’ll find Jennings might of held him before the ball got to them. SK is a good team probably the best we’ve faced all season(not knocking JC) they match up really good on both sides of the ball. This was the second game this season we gave up over 400yds passing(George Washington from WV was the other).That’s was PI and auto first down. The official missed that and not the way the game should’ve finished. SK screwed on thatIs Turner hurt or just saving him for playoffsEarlier this year he became first freshman to have a pic 6 and rushing td in a gameHis number is 1
