Ashland again over 10 penalties, 2 turnovers and secondary lit up by GW. The improved the turnover numbers after 9 in the first 2 games but giving teams second and third chances with dumb penalties on defense then holding penalties at the wrong time when driving down the field doesn’t help with this young team. The defense gave Ashland a chance in the second half trailing 28–14 at the half but with just over 3 minutes to go GW scored to go up 14.
