30 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Ashland punches it in for 35-7 after Belfry’s 4th turnover.

Belfry gets passing TD on the last play of the half and they get the kickoff to start the second half. Ashland 28-7 at the half.

3:05 left 2nd quarter Ashland 21-0. Really didn’t expect the cats to be moving the ball so well.

If the young cats keep their focus and execution it promises to be a great game. If it’s close in the 4th quarter I like Ashland’s chances of winning but if Belfry gets more of their key players back it could easily be a 2 score advantage to the pirates.

This one was over after opening kickoff as Ashland raced out to 28-0 lead heading into the second quarter and from there Ashland submitted freely. Magoffin Co only dressed 20 for the game due to injuries and sickness and they fought until the end but Ashland just had too many weapons to be slowed down tonight. Ashland will play host to Belfry next week which should be a knock down drag out fight at Putnam Stadium.

Really didn’t think I’d win the regular season but a blind squirrel does get an occasional nut?

Not having Sexton to handle the kicking duties could bite Ashland when it’s said and done.

Ashland has done a ton of growing up since week one and other than the Raceland and Wheelersburg games they’ve been in all of the games in the 4th quarter. If they keep it close it’ll be interesting but if turnovers and penalties come into it then Greenup could win by 2-3 scores otherwise it could be a slug fest. Should be great game to watch tonight.

I think Raceland rolls in this one, the big matchup will be meeting Pikeville in the playoffs

Another good game between the two rivals. The way Russell played is no way a reflection of their 0-8 record. Ashland has grown up a lot since losing to Raceland to begin the season.

I only do good in first weeks of picking these games then I start over thinking them?

I think if they keep up the intensity a make a run deep into the playoffs maybe knock Pikeville along the way they’d definitely should be considered.

The coaches challenged the offensive line with just one senior, a freshman center and 3 sophomores it’s the best I’ve seen them play this year.

I had a feeling Ashland would come in a little more physical this game. Glad to see this young team finally put together a good game.
