Russell is 2-0 with wins over Boone County 19-6 and 28-18 over Raceland.

Wheelersburg is 1-1 with a 40-6 loss to Ironton, Oh and a 26-3 win over Chillicothe, Oh.

The game Starts at 7pm on 9/3/21 since Ohio Starts games 30 minutes earlier than Kentucky.

If you are a Russell fan going to the stadium be prepared for the loud sound of pop tabs or coins or whatever they put in a lot of Milk Jugs.   
 

Can Russell go into Ed Miller Stadium on the Burgs turf field and bring the W back to Kentucky?

This will be a hard one for Russell to pull off. I'd like their chances better at home. Wheelersburg is a strong program with a top shelf head coach and staff, and it's hard to cross the river and win in Ohio.

The Devils proved me wrong last week, but I still have doubts about both lines. Raceland got rocked early and turned the ball over, but they consistently won the battle in the trenches throughout the game. A more seasoned quarterback and secondary play probably would have equaled victory for the Rams. Russell can't count on those things breaking their way every week, especially this Friday against a very solid and well coached perennial top 10 program from the Buckeye state.

You can expect the Pirates to be physical. Russell needs to match that intensity. I think this will be a very competitive game, but I think Wheelersburg wins at home.

Over on the Ohio forum they think that  Russell got a qb from Raceland and that Raceland was salty about it.What they don’t realize is Logan Lundy transferred to Raceland from Russell. I’m pretty sure Russell fans wish the kid well. They also think he’s a 5th year senior when as far as I know Russell doesn’t have any. I know Russell board of education voted not to have a do over year. They should make sure they know their facts about out of state schools before spouting off stuff they have no idea about lol.

I’d love to see Russell win this one but you got the Ohio refs to deal with too but if they keep tgeir heads in the game I think they can do it.

Russell has hurt themselves with penalties and getting behind the chains  and a couple over thrown ball where the Russell player had the WB player beat.
