This is exactly how I feel. Most the hype of OC is from winning against BG with all the stars aligning in their favor. The next 2 wks proved that to be the case. DC hung in there with OC for a half and Apollo played with them for an entire game. I think if BG and OC played again today the score would be very different than the 1st go around. O should win this if everyone is healthy and ready to go

I’m not too confident in the coaching staff. First 2 games of the season O’s coach’s didn’t have the players ready to go. Zero energy, no resiliency, missed tackles on almost every play, blocking was almost non existent. Wayyy too much talent to get blown out 35-0 at home last week. Total embarrassment. At what point do you give Ashley a chance at QB? Why isn’t Evan Hampton playing defense?.. If this game is even close or we lose I’m writing this season off and hopping on the new coach train early… I really hope the Devils turn it around starting today.

James Green who streams the OHS games on FB said he will no longer be streaming home games for the Devils?.

If BG keeps it close with St. X, OC has a big case for #1 or #2 (behind beechwood) in 2A. I don’t think they’re down much from last year. Their QB might be just as productive this year as Atwell was in previous years. Plus they have the speed and play makers to get it done.

But would they be able to capitalize off the turnover like in previous years? I know it’s still early so I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Yeah you’re probably right they definitely went conservative on O and BG’s defense is better than O’s but O’s offense to me seems better and could barely get in the red zone let alone score. St. X is a totally different beast than OC. I expect to see BG with some improvements. Just not enough to keep this close. Would be different if this game happened later in the season.

I’ll be shocked if BG can hold St. X to 28 after allowing OC to score 23. Most years they can hold St. X to 28 but with the purples offense not being able to move the ball like previous yrs I can see St. X putting up more points this go around.

One thing I’ve learned about BG, don't ever count them out, especially this early. Idk how they do it but they always develop their QB’s to be top performers in the state. Come playoffs BG will still be the team to beat in 5A regardless of what their record says.

I guess I have to tune in to them. They’ve been a good program for a while. Usually top 6 in 5A.

Did they return a lot or something?

OC beating BG is something I did not expect at all! Is OC that good? 2A just got that much more interesting.

@Astro Domino honestly don’t know what to expect from my Devils next wk against CAL. But I hope to see improvements at the least.

This was a combination game. O could have played cleaner and has a lot to improve on but the players are there… St. X is that good imo. Played like they never took a break from last season. Defense was almost flawless at every level. Not often you see DB’s take down Dillard 1 on 1 in space. The offense did whatever they wanted to do with whoever they wanted to do it. I’m sure Trinity will have a lot to say about this but St. X is definitely my early pick to win 6A.

Might wanna go back and watch the mayfield a scrimmage. The 2 hand touch aspect really limited him in the SW scrimmage. Ganaway throws a nice ball imo.

Based off his Hudl the young man is a STUD! Will be a great addition to the defense. First Muster now him. Is this the Ganaway affect?

Don’t know much about Murray but Apollo will be a problem this year so give me the Eagles by 2 scores.

This is my biggest worry.. 3rd and short situations will be basically an automatic with the line advantage they have. X might not have to score 30 plus if they just play keep away. I do think our offense is capable of putting up 20 plus against this great St. X defense though if they’re able to get stops.

This should be a good game. If the Devils want to stay in this they have to find ways to get the ball in Dillards hands. As talented and good as Hampton is at RB, he’s easier to game plan against and stop/slow down than Dillard is. Especially since St. X will have the obvious advantage on both offensive and defensive lines… O will also need to have all their starters on defense to slow down this St. X offense. Overall I think this is a mountain too high for the Devils to climb at this point in the season. I just hope we stay injury free as we have another power house in CAL the following week. x- 42 o- 28

IMO it hurt Owensboro more. Ganaway Jr. seems to make his best throws on the run and is a natural scrambler, his legs would’ve kept most of the drives alive. Guess we’ll know for-sure once the season starts.

South Warrens defense will make them competitive in 6A.

I was thinking we should sit Hampton out at RB (just run some back ups), we already know what he can do.

Any word on Green and Conrad’s return?

This year I believe District 1 is the toughest in 5A. Graves, Apollo, Owensboro and Madisonville-North Hopkins are all going to have good seasons
