This game is really flying low on the radar. This could be one of the best matchups in Western Kentucky.

Does Murray come home with a win or does Apollo start their season 1-0?

Who do you got?

  • Murray played very sloppy throughout.  It seemed like they were going to pull away and just was not able to finish.  They did rush for more than 200 and looked like threw for 250.  Good win on the roa

  • This Apollo team is one of the best that they have had for as long as I can remember... Probably since the Dan Gooch era.... Murray will always pass the eye test, but can their big fellas handle playi

This is a terrific early matchup.

My gut says Apollo with Johnson at QB, but I really don't know as much about Murray except they are supposed to have a good team this year.

Gooding to be a good game!

Apollo is bigger and supposed to be much improved but people are saying this is Murray’s best team in years. I think I’m going with Murray close 21-17.

This Apollo team is one of the best that they have had for as long as I can remember... Probably since the Dan Gooch era.... Murray will always pass the eye test, but can their big fellas handle playing both ways against a fast tempo offense? This will be a great test for both teams!

Apollo: 42

Murray: 21

From what I’ve seen. For Apollo, its the Max Johnson show. The Eagles will soar as high as he takes them. And he is definately capable of taking over the game with his scrambling ability and that rocket arm of his.

Murray also has one of the best QBs in WKY in Wyatt Robbins.  He seems to have made a huge leap going into his senior year.  He will have a bigger arsenal to work with as Isaiah Martin will lead the charge.

As for the big fellas, only 1 (Ryan Walls So 6’4”330 lbs) maybe two will go both ways. Demetrius Carman (Sr 6’8” 400ish) has had a great offseason and should have an impact inside.

Yes… he is.  The plus is he can move and is good with his hands. Kid plays basketball as well.

I noticed one problem with the Murray OL not blocking till the whistle blows and standing around after getting the initial block. That should be an easy fix but it did cost them what could have been several big plays. Besides that Murray looked good, I’ll take them in a close game.

If you think they don’t block well they won’t win. Apollo has a pretty good defense. Their secondary is very experienced and they will hit you. Their DL has 3 starters back. LBs they replace 2 ILBs but return their OLBs. If Murray doesn’t finish blocks that won’t help.

They made all their initial blocks, it was just some players not finishing through which is unusual for Murray. Murray has a good coach though and I’m sure that didn’t go unnoticed and is a easy fix.

Murray OL is decent they are big yes but I do think they have trouble sustaining blocks. Skill players wise I think they are better than they were a year ago even without Jeremiah. They got some new guys even with the guys that return from last season. I like Murray in this game but Apollo should make things interesting. Coach Edge does a tremendous job and he will have his guys ready to play that's for sure.

Don’t know much about Murray but Apollo will be a problem this year so give me the Eagles by 2 scores.

Murray’s QB is really good.. I’ll take Murray by 2 TD’s.

If the one Owensboro guy on here is right about how good Apollo is, I’ll take Apollo 35-21.
