Oregon high school football coach fired immediately after winning rivalry game 63-0
They won a state title in 2024 which was his 1st year. They were 4-6 in 2025 & 3-3 in 2026 when he was relieved. Apparently, with about 2:00 to go in the 2nd quarter & up 50-0, their QB scrambled & went out of bounds & was shoved to the ground by an opposing player. This caused a bit of a fracas & multiple kids had to be separated. MC then scored on the next play, then went for the onside kick to score again.

That’s cute, but it might help out that RPI that the Trinity folks love to complain about provided they win the game.

So they would play St. X, Male & who would be the 3rd in-state game for them?

Why even play the game at all at that point? If it were 6-minute quarters, Western might as well forfeit. I'm sure it will be the CAL varsity for about 1 1/2 quarters, then the JV will play the rest. It'll be good for the JV. They've only had 4 JV games this year due to so many cancellations. CAL JV has played as many, if not more quarters on Friday nights this year than on Saturday afternoons or Monday evenings.

Christian Academy of Louisville 30 Male 14 (JV)
Only the 4th JV game of the season for CAL due to multiple cancelations. CAL gave up a TD midway through the 4th quarter to tighten the gap. Male had some size and they do have speed.

To be fair, St. X did beat Bowling Green by 30 whereas BE lost to BG by 27.

District Football Is Broken
💯 agree. It doesn’t matter how many classes, districts, etc. that you have, there will always be talent gaps & blowouts as long as classes are determined by student population & districts by similar geography & nothing else.

CAL travels to Rockford Ln to take on the Western Warriors on Friday 10/16. Game time is set for 7 p.m. If ever there was an argument for mandatory district play being broken, this is it. This is literally a battle of the highest rated RPI team in class 3A vs. the lowest rated RPI team in class 3A. I commend Western for playing this game and not simply forfeiting; however, this game will be a running clock from the outset, literally. Western has asked for a running clock from the opening kickoff due to low numbers and injuries & CAL has agreed. CAL will extend their winning streak to 31 and Ja'Hyde Brown has an outside chance to tie the KY single season TD reception record as well.

Is this Rock Bottom for St. X (no pun intended)?
I kinda saw a rough season coming for St X, but thought they would improve as the season went. What’s more surprising is the regression as the season has went. Granted that their last 4 games have overall been tougher opponents than their first 3 games, but they haven’t been competitive in those last 4 at all. If I were a St X fan, that’s what I would be most disappointed in; not necessarily the losses, but the fashion in which they’ve come.

Nate Shields didn't go D1?

CAL should get WR Gaines Howard back for this one. He was a 1,000 yard receiver last year who has only played one game this year for about 3 total plays. Another weapon for Jackson Burke to work with. Gaines also started at safety last year.

Although mostly district games are played this time of year, games are not limited to district only at this time / week by the KHSAA.

Christian Academy of Louisville 49 Central 7
Of note from last week, with his 5 TD passes against DeSales, Jackson Burke now has 101 career passing TDs. He is on pace to tie the single season passing TD record & fall just shy of the career passing TD mark with a season left to go.

Christian Academy of Louisville 49 Central 7
The Central Yellow Jackets visit CAL on Friday for a district contest. In recent years, these two rivals have had some contentious battles with Central being the last team to defeat CAL back in 2024. Since that point, CAL has rattled off 29 straight victories. Central will bring their best effort, but will it be enough to stop CAL's streak of 1st half running clocks? Kickoff is set for 7:30.

Ja'Hyde Brown - Mr. Football Conversation
It never is until they sign! Glad for him that he's exploring other options. Still think Louisville is the front runner, but others still have a shot. Kentucky will push hard to land both Ja'Hyde & Kellan Hall.

Just seemed sluggish & it drug on. I think DeSales threw 4 or 5 passes total & just drained the clock. I know the offense they ran couldn't have been their normal offense. Best I can describe it was a funky form of the Delaware wing-T.

Strange to say, but there's a chance St X could go 4-6 in the regular season.
