  1. Coach Wooldridge would be a good hire I believe. He's had some success at the MS level and kids seem to like playing for him. I haven't heard anything negative really said about him either.
  2. Correct & I was aware of all of that but chose to keep my post brief about him. Anyway, I agree with you that he’s deserving of this opportunity.
  3. He was the head coach for Bullitt Central a few years back. He led them to the 3rd round of the playoffs for the first time in school history in 2021 I believe. He moved to Ballard as an assistant after that year.
  4. There are always going to be deserving kids who are left off 1st team, 2nd team, etc. There are only so many spots. Just curious, in order to place some of the kids you mentioned, who are indeed solid football players, on the 1st team, you would have to take someone off. In your opinion, who should be taken off?
  5. Do the rankings look a bit off…sure, but as far as Bullitt East is concerned, they do return 16 starters (8 offense & 8 defense) & had a freshman class with a bunch of talent this year that should help on varsity next year. I believe Coach Kendrick & company have another very solid year next year.
  6. Congrats to Coach Hawkins, Coach Dantzler & Coach Haskins on this honor. It's well earned and deserved.
  7. Spent the last 5 seasons at Seneca as HC with a record of 16-31. Before taking over as HC of Seneca, he was an assistant at Seneca, Ballard & Male most recently. I don't know him nor have I ever spoken with anyone who does, so I can't speak to anything other than his record and where he coached.
  8. Radcliff still has a couple of teams that play in the LYFL don't they? I'm assuming those are the "travel teams" you referred to. And I think it's the E-town Ironmen that play in the MKYFC. They usually put a fairly decent team on the field.
  9. The Mt. Washington teams in the GBCYFL didn't; they just ran whatever "worked", but the MWFCA tries to do that. Sometimes it's difficult to get a bunch of 8 and 9 year old kids to understand formations, terminology and sling the ball around the field, but the overall concepts are taught and we try to align the programs from Pee Wee to High School. The MS runs the same offense as the HS for Bullitt East and many of the defensive concepts are the same.
  10. Bullitt County has the GBCYFL. Up until a few years ago, there were nine teams in the league. Each school (BE, BC & NB) each had three teams and they all played each other for a total of 8 games a year then had a playoff. It wasn't always the most competitive and some teams would struggle to field a team at all. A few years ago, Bullitt East pretty much broke off to form the MWFCA and join another more competitive league. Now, some Mt. Washington teams still compete in the GBCYFL, but most kids from the Mt. Washington area compete in the MWFCA. Just my own opinion, but I don't think it works real well having just a league formed with only one county unless it's something like Jefferson County, but even they have the LYFL and have teams in it from other counties.
  11. Agreed. I honestly believe the transfer portal shouldn’t open up until AFTER the early signing period from 12/20-12/22. I’m all for kids getting a second chance, but why should they get a second chance before the high schoolers get their first chance?
  12. Agreed, it would be a great hire for Manual, but I think Coach Morton is looking to jump to the college coaching ranks next.
  13. I don’t believe there is one anymore either. Closest thing would be the Louisville metro east/west game I think.
  14. Of course kids like playing for Mayfield. True small school, community program that’s 115 years old with 12 state titles, I believe 12 state runner ups & over 900 wins. If I were a current football player in that area, I’d choose Mayfield also. No offense meant towards Graves Co., but that’s tough to compete with to get kids.
  15. Bell County has to string together a few drives early that result in 4 or 5 first downs each, even if they don’t score. If they win the toss, take the ball & set the pace of the game early. If they don’t, this could be 21-0 heading into the 2nd quarter & a hole way too big to dig out of. If Daniel Thomas can somehow pull off a performance close to what Isaac Dixon did a few years back against PT, then I’d say he’s a lock for Mr. Football, if he isn’t already.
  16. Ahh the battle of the two teams that almost everyone had already written off in early September. It’s a good thing the season is not only 3 to 5 games long. I’m honestly pulling for Bryan Station because a few of their coaches helped out my oldest son greatly on the football field. However, I just think Trinity might have a bit too much for them. Trinity fans will be rewarded for their undying faith & patience in their coaching staff (🤦‍♂️) & the freshman Zane Johnson’s development. Zane & Trinity will win multiple 6A state titles during his career. I do believe this game will be much closer than the first meeting. I know Station made some unforced mistakes in the first meeting that cost them & I have faith that Coach Hawkins & company have cleaned them up. I’ll go with Trinity 31-21.
  17. Overall, I have no problem with RPI if two adjustments/rules were made: 1. Re-adjust for strength of out of state comp. If you can figure it for in state comp, it shouldn’t be that hard to adjust for out of state. 2. If two teams meet in the 3rd or 4th round of the playoffs & they’ve already met in the regular season then the regular season winner hosts the playoff game, regardless of RPI. FD & BS should be hosting tonight….they EARNED that right in the regular season matchups with Trinity & Ballard.
  18. Great to see that one of these two programs are going to be playing for a state title. Both were close to getting to Kroger field last year. Great coaching jobs by Coach Hawkins & Coach Morton. With that being said, I’m picking Station 21-17. Back at the beginning of the year, I really thought they were going to be at Kroger Field at the end of the season so I’m sticking to that. Good luck to both teams & here’s to a safe & competitive game.
  19. 5 - CAL 4 - Mayfield 3 - Bryan Station 2 - PT 1 - Trinity
  20. I agree 100%. I'm not sure what they think they're going to find. Outside of a couple of public schools in Jefferson County like maybe Ballard or Central, it's tough to consistently win at a JCPS school. I will say that he and his entire staff do a great job truly caring for their kids. I've seen multiple coaches, especially their DC Coach Kelly, taking kids to offseason camps. Those guys go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of those kids. Again, I also think this is a big mistake by PRP, but some other program(s) are going to reap the benefits of it. With that being said, if they don't go with an internal hire, this would be a good landing spot for a person like Anthony White from Atherton.
  21. I have no idea how officials are selected. It's a tough job so I don't want to demean them, but what is the accountability for officials? Who reviews their performance each week? Who determines what? I know during the regular season, they work with an assigner, but I would imagine things are different for the playoffs.
  22. Anybody else see this? Being told it was at a critical point in the game with Manual driving to score. Don’t know though; anyone else confirm?
