Appreciate it Toothpick. After watching this game, Mayfield for sure looks like the better team, and Murray had the perfect game plan. Fun game to watch, with two different styles going at it.

I hate to hear that about both those kids, but especially Hunter Scott. He is a great ballplayer, and is great with the ball in his hands. That really hurts Glasgow, he was a big part of that team. Hope both of those young men heal up quick and wish nothing but the best for them.

I'm not sure what I've done to upset you, but whatever it is, I can see its upset you very much. I apologize for whatever it is that had upset you so much. With that said, Green did come out flat, no question to it, starting with the opening kickoff we fumbled to them, and they scored two plays later. We had around 10 penalties or more, and a Touchdown called back, a fourth and goal score the kid easily got in on that we didn't get the call. That's all part of the game, and I won't blame the officials, we just didn't play well. You have to attribute some of that to Metcalfe, they did some really good things against the Dragons, but I won't pretend and say we played well in that game, we didn't, and they took advantage.

I've watched plenty of Metcalfe County games, they are a good and tough team. I really like the kids they have and the fight they play with. I have nothing but respect for that team. I was interested in watching Mayfield and Murray, I enjoy good high school football games, and this sounded like one. I have no idea if Green County can beat Mayfield, but I hope we get the chance to see. Hopefully Mayfield can get by Caldwell and Murray.

I hope Murray gets the chance for a rematch with Mayfield, I would love to see that outcome. Also, is there a place I could watch the game from the other night online somewhere?

They did. Metcalfe County came to play and did what they had to do. Green County played the worst game of the year, but that's part of it and have to Credit Metcalfe with that some as well. Only Issue I see here is that Mayfield takes a loss to Murray but doesn't drop a spot, Murray ran all over the cards, hard for me to see them not drop a single spot after a loss.

Me and you both. I think Green is the better team, but penalties and turnovers killed the Dragons tonight. Plus Green came out flat again, this is about 3-4 weeks they have come out flat. Just this week, the team across from them was good enough to put it to them. Couple that with some unlucky calls and some bad luck and you get this result. Hopefully we take care of business the next two weeks and get that rematch. Congrats to Metcalfe on a well played game, they deserved the win.

I said earlier in the year that Franklin hadn’t lost a game to a bad team And every game had been super competitive, and they seemed to be getting better each week. It seems they are finally starting to hit their stride.

I really like Murray, and hope they get Mayfield again in the Playoffs, but not a single team in 2A ls on the level of Beechwood and LCA this year. I’ve watched both, and they are top 15 teams in the entire state of any class that I’ve seen.

I mean no disrespect, but you have to be kidding? It’s been said multiple times that Mayfield could beat Beechwood. Especially if they played at home. I remember a post just a few weeks back that was posted that stated after they watched Beechwood they were certain Mayfield could throw all over Beechwood.

The Dragons fall to Metcalfe 28-26. Metcalfe played really well in the first half, and lead 21-6. Metcalfe was on the receiving end of countless penalties called on the Dragons and fortunate bounces that went there way. The Dragons dominated the second half. The Dragons had I couldn’t tell you how many penalties, and still wouldn’t go away, the Dragons had a TD called back, a for sure TD overturned on 4th and goal, and 2 two point conversions called down when it appeared the runner scored. The Dragons had a chance to tie it even with all Of that with 2 mins to go in the fourth and came up about half an inch or two short per the official. Super good game. Hope to see the Dragons make it back to Metcalfe in the second round.

Can we stop hearing about how Mayfield can beat Beechwood and LCA now. If they let Murray run all over them, LCA and Beechwood would be even worse.

Having seen both teams, I'll go with Taylor County 35-28. With that said, it depends which Taylor County team shows up. Taylor has some really good pieces but also has some games where they come out flat and just seem disinterested. When Taylor is locked in, they are a very solid team. Adair on the other hand is going to play hard from whistle to whistle and play the entire 40 minutes with everything they have. I really like this Adair team and for sure could see them beating Taylor. Should be a very good game.

Metcalfe is very good up front, so should be a battle at the line of scrimmage. Green is usually very good against the run and gets after the QB, so it should be a battle of strengths. I don't believe Ferguson was hurt, more of getting reps for the freshman Qb. I also think Seymour was fine, just Houchens and Mckinney were running the ball so well he didn't have to carry the ball at the end as much. Plus Green played a bunch of kids different places. I don't think Green has anyone injured at this point. Should be a full go for this week.

This Friday Green County travels to Metcalfe County to face the Hornets. Metcalfe is a solid team and returned a very large part of last years team. I expect this to be a very good game, that could go either way. Give me the Dragons 34-27.

This game was never in doubt. Dragons didn't play great but had way to much for Edmonson. I'd say Houchens and Seymour ran for over 250 yards between the two. This Sets up a massive game next week against Metcalfe County at Metcalfe for first place in the district. Should be a great game.

I would have to think Coach Phelps at Green County is at or near the top of this list. The Dragons returned I believe 21 of 22 starters from last years team, but he came in and did what needed to be done with those young men and has those guys playing great football. It would be hard to find a team that has made a bigger turn around than this Green County team. Even more impressive is the Dragons return every single skill kid for next year along with 4 of 5 linemen. The Dragons are still very young, but have grown up quick this season.

I think Glasgow is very capable of beating them. Glasgow looked like the better team last year when they played, and Glasgow returned everything from that team. I also think Bardstown could beat them, especially if Cal turns the ball over.

I think this is pretty close to correct. I believe anyone from 4-10 could beat each other on any given night, and the top 3 are head and shoulders above the rest. I also believe LCA, and Beechwood are 2 TDs better than Mayfield. It looks like a Collison course for the top two teams.

Adair is in 3a and Metcalfe is in 2a, so they won't meet again this year. With that said, I wonder what we will see with this game, this will be the first game that Metcalfe has played without QB Dial against a really solid team. Metcalfe is a very solid team and very good up front and have some nice athletes. I know Adair is very good as well, should be a good game. I'll go Adair 35-34.

I've been saying for some time that Bethlehem is a really good team and could be a dark horse to make a semi-final or state final, just depends on the draw they get. They have enough athletes for class A to compete with just about everyone.

Green County Dominates this game from the start and led 34-6 at the half and got a bunch of young kids some playing time the second half. Green County looks to go to 8-0 next week against Edmonson County. If the Dragons get that win, it sets up the district title game at Metcalfe in what should be a great ball game for both teams.

I'm not sure how anyone not named LCA beats Beechwood in 2a this year. They are big, fast, and super deep at every spot. This might be the best Beechwood team I've gotten to watch in my years of watching teams from around the state.

Wow. Barren with a big big win. This begs the question, how good is Russellville? They dominated Barren.
