Covington Catholic 38 Highlands 21
I think your mostly correct. The offensive line has been the only constant all year. Line play seems pretty solid as it shows with the run game. What’s in question is the pass game. Eddie’s offense is designed to throw the ball and he is the best at having a balanced offense. When your QB runs for almost as many yards in passing that’s what needs tightened up. QB needs to feel confident the WR’s are running routes and catching balls. Will be tough to win state without a balanced offensive and putting up receiving yards. If anyone can fix it over night it will be that staff.

Highlands at Covington Catholic (5A Playoffs) Predictions/Updates
Not sure why the cost matters. Highlands travels to Park Hills in charter buses. Like the drive is an hour away. What’s 15 bucks when you spend $800 on a 15 minute bus ride?

Brayden Collins looked really good at tailback. Kid ran really hard and would love to see more of him in the future.

BluegrassPreps Class 5A Football Rankings (10/19) - Discussion
Let’s all keep in mind to that the one thing not one person is talking about is the stout offensive line that Covcath has. Only giving up 1 sack through 5 games. Covcath will be game ready for the southern teams. Honestly the coaching staff alone is a 7 point advantage against anyone.

Covington Catholic 42 Highlands 0
Anyone Notice that at the end of the game when Covcath staff and players walked out to give highlands the “good game wave” that the Highlands staff and kids turned their backs. That’s what I was told from a friend. Anyone see that?

Simon Kenton 41 Campbell County 34
Seems to be same old song and dance in Alexandria. Wrong players playing positions they should not be in. I am not sure but this is the senior class that completely walked through they middle school league as 8th graders. I don’t remember that team being hit or miss.

Highlands at Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates
Line returns 2 starters. Dickhouse seems to be the Veteran on the line. Dietz at center I believe is listed at 6’3 290. Eplan and Shram and Eplan up the guards which are quick. They all seem to have good size. As far as the big fella goes I have watched a few games on various outlets and I have not seen a 6’8 kid on the sidelines. I am curios on the status of that guy. He would for sure make the TV games much more interesting. I would think a 6’9 dude would be easy to spot on first.

Pikeville at Campbell County Predictions/Updates ***Upset Alert***
I feel as this matchup will be completely lopsided. Pikeville’s offense is far superior than the Defense of the camels.

Covington Catholic 47 Cooper 0
Still a little sloppy but the Colonels are moving in the right direction.

Covington Catholic vs. Dixie Heights Predictions/Updates
The Blue Colonels will be young for sure. Only 2 returning offensive linemen. The big transfer I don’t think has been cleared to play yet. However, make no mistake they will be game ready.

Campbell County - 2020 Schedule
Any update from Campbell County? I know at some point they were down 2 schools but rumor has it they picked up Pikeville. Anyone heard anything?

What's going on at Cooper?
I was looking on Facebook. I found the transfers pretty easy.

The success of the CCH program is a success now because the Administration and Bob Rowe want to win. So they got the best out there to deliver that to the alumni. That’s my opinion.

What's going on at Cooper?
I heard the same. Heard 1 enrolled at Covcath. One to Boone maybe.

Boone County - 2020 Schedule
Boone beats Campbell, Dunbar, Lloyd, and Cooper. Prediction 5-5 regular season. Not sure where coach Warner finds the 5th win but it’s in there. You heard it here first.

Very familiar with the youth program. I have friends that live in Other cities in Kenton County that have there kids playing there. However they will not go to school there for highschool. Like I said freshmen football maybe about talent at some places but for a varsity program it’s should be about chemistry and team building.

Not saying they are not, but again think about that and what your saying. They should be, they have been playing in the same system. Once the Covcath and Ryle and Conner kids all start getting to there final destinations, it takes a year to get them to gel together. While Highlands is banking on the status of the freshmen season it’s not a true indicator of the rest of nky football. NKY has teams all over plus once kids are able to go to highschool the better athletes tend to start looking for a good fit. A place where they have to find a spot on a team that they have never been on or kids they have never been around. I am not sure Highlands has had undefeated Freshmen season have they? In last few years. Again just think about the teams that Highlands lost to up here. Conner kids play all over as they are k-8. Covcath kids play all over k-8. When they become freshmen the staff has no idea about half these kids. Takes a while to get that chemistry going.

I am not saying the model is the problem. They seem to do a great job. Problem that I would see is they are playing the same kids day in and day out each year. Where is the development and structure. Some times knowing there is a king on the hill you are able to prepare different per week and change strategies per week. Seems to me that is a mirror image of what people are complaining about at the varsity level now. Again no dog in the fight but seems logical.

Maybe competitive is the wrong word. It just seems to me that playing other talent from around the Tri-state allows you to have a good gauge of what you have. A talented kid from Ft.Mitchell that maybe playing in the Ft.Thomas league as a youth kid does not give you hope that they would be a Bluebird later down the road considering for a while they were not taking tuition students.

I have zero dog in this fight. I am a firm believer in youth programs being the backbone of the varsities success. If I am not mistaken, The youth league in Ft.Thomas is not competitive and does not play in any type of league til they get to middle school level. Does anyone think they stems from talent drop off?

Is there any credibility to the Eddie Eviston is leaving CovCath rumors floating around?
I think he was hurt all year. Hopefully he is healthy.

Jayden Stavia was a beast as a freshmen plus you have to look at the kids that played behind the 3 year starters. David Sullivan will be a great MLB. The JV team had tons of skilled players. Not sure what there line looks like. Anyone have anything on the big boys? According to there roster they have 2 big sophomores Hovan and Dietz.
