Still a little sloppy but the Colonels are moving in the right direction.

Final.

I believe it was 41 to 0 not 47.

Tanking for Trevor.

Colonels started off with their sloppy ways in the 1st quarter leading to a 0-0 tie. They got it together and then some for the next 2 quarters and played CovCath football.

Cooper needs to figure something out because it isn't working. They have a chance this week to make adjustments and still get a win. This is a big week for the Jaguars' season.

I believe Cooper returned only one starting offensive lineman. Returned only one player in their front 7 on defense. Then also lost their returning starting QB from last year do to an injury before the season. When you add that in, to go along with two of their three games so far being against top teams like Desales and Covcath. It is going to end up taking some time to get things going.

I think most would say Cooper did show improvement last night, even though the final score doesn’t show it. The game was 0 to 0 in the first quarter. Was only 14 to 0 with 1:30 to go before half, when Cooper botched a punt. Setting up Covcath to go only 20 yards to score, which they were able to do with 5 seconds left.

When you lose that many players, especially up front both sides of the ball and your QB. It does take some time to get things going.

a quote form another member in another thread about Cooper and Cov Cath.  This was before last nights game.  I think the excuses listed above are real, however, only scrape the surface.  It has been a downward spiral for a few years.

This series record currently stands at 4-0 in Cov Cath's favor. Average margin of victory for the Colonels is 40.5 points, and they have outscored the Jags, all time, 181 to 19.

2017: 41-0 Cov Cath
2018: 54-7 Cov Cath
2019: 45-6 Cov Cath
2019: 41-6 Cov Cath (Playoffs)

CovCath won the JV game 54-0. Half was 33-0.

From 2017 to 2019 basically every team in NKY had the same type of lopsided losses to Covcath. So that really doesn’t show anything. Which then gets back to what I just stated in this years team, and what they are having to replace up front on both sides of the ball.

I thought Cooper had a strong enough program in place to reload. Apparently I am wrong.

There are talented players on the Jags.  Many talented players.  I also believed there was a strong program in place to reload, but the past few years haven't showed that.
