  1. 2 D1? And I think they will be, like you said different forsure but I think this team just lines up more with what they’re Uber successful teams have been. Spacing, shooting and High IQ ball. Come postseason last year teams were cheating off Chandler a lot, everything just seemed clunky.
  2. Johnson is the highest ranked and the best on a national scale. I know In NKY there’s some studs coming up, Newport has the two mentioned above.Kinney is super advanced for his age, his feel for the game and advanced skill already are awesome to watch. But CCH also has two that need to be mentioned in Athens Mcgillis and Donovan Bradshaw. Mcgillis game is super fun to watch, lights out catch and shoot guy. Also very quick, people tend to say he is Steph curry like in the way he runs around and has a quick trigger. Bradshaw is the younger brother of Lacey from ND, 6’4-6’5 will play the 3/4 that can defend all positions and is lanky and athletic. Not much of a skills guy but super athletic and great body, CCH should be able to develop him. Both play at the highest level on the AAU circuit for Midwest Basketball Club. Reed Shepherd, Rayvon Griffith, Gabe Cupps, many of the top Midwest players play for this program just speaks volumes of their talent.
  3. They were underestimated not talked about in terms of winning, and then went on to win it while their best player showed out and played the best and he still didn’t get the MVP. But what do I know!
  4. He is another reason why the CCH being not as good thing is just wild to me, they reload every single year. Their program is at a different gear/level, it’ll always be a players game. You can’t win without dudes, but they have some dudes coming up to replace what they lost. Bradshaw and the younger McGillis will be the best young duo in the region after for years to come. They play big time AAU and do it very well. And this year you better really sit down and guard cause there will be shooters everywhere, and if Evan isn’t scoring he will find them. I think they could be better, offense won’t be as stagnant. You have a lot more shooting and scoring threats from downsizing, on top of being able to guard better.
  5. Until someone Dethrones CCH they are the favorites. Coaching staff, skill, system; it’s a multitude of things that have made them what they are during this run. Not just strictly player talent, they will play the hardest, be the best coached, take care of the ball and have the best player on the court. When they play Lloyd and some of these other teams last year it wasn’t even the big men they lost that did much. It was superior guard play, taking care of the ball and great shooting. Plus they have some young size to make up for what they lost, scoring wise I think they are better than last year. Need to make up some defense and rebounding, but in all honestly people are basing the gap closing off losing a couple kids. That’s not reality at all from what I’m hearing.
  6. Running clock with or without Crone. Beechwood has the horses and the defense to slow down SK, what was it under 8 PPG average last year and only have added to that? Now without Crone good luck, SW having over 300 rushing yards does not bode well at all for the Pioneers. You have potential Mr.Football and arguably the best back in the state, then they sprinkle in the athleticism of Robinson, it’s truly thunder and lightning.
  7. If this is the case, Crone being out doesn’t make the defense defend the run. Berger and Robinson might have a field day!
  8. Boley’s offer list is insanely impressive, Bama and UM before his junior year. On top of about a dozen more power 5 offers, I too think his impact will be more than Robinson Jr but I still think outside of those studs Beechwood has a little more.
  9. I’ve actually heard the family loves the area and Scott will likely see it through his youngest boy.
  10. Yeah I’d be interested to hear about who all these movers are.
  11. Also idk if anybody has seen the video of him and Bronny James going at it but it’s a treat to watch, and Indy Heat actually won the game by 30. I’ll see if I can find it again and pin it in thread.
  12. The 2023 PG just decommited, after having an awesome junior season and a successful spring/summer on the biggest AAU circuit I’d say it’s safe to assume he is headed for something bigger and better. Kid athletically is off the charts and has plenty of skill to score at the next level. Just has to quit taking plays off on defense and the sky is the limit.
  13. Like I said In the other thread I heard this would be possible and he’s looking really good in one of the top AAU leagues in the country. I agree with above poster, has a real shot at top 30 recruit. His blend of size, skill and athleticism is exactly what you want in the modern game. Really opens things up in the 7th and state wide, Male had to be overwhelming favorite going into next year.
  14. Honestly I know a lot of people won’t like to hear this but Kaleb needs to go prep or one of the newer alternate routes or even reclassify. And really get into a situation that focuses even more on the basketball side of things. He needs to practice and go up against kids that are going to challenge him every day and every game. I don’t think that’s here in Kentucky anymore, and people have to realize this kid has real NBA potential. Lighting up the EYBL so far this spring!
  15. How does this make the 9th any more interesting? Ipsarro, Hussey will run the region and they will reload around them.
  16. CCH vs Holmes battles were so fun in hoop. Us as spectators can only hope Holmes can ever get back to what they are supposed to be.
  17. Word on the street is none of those 8th graders will be at their current school.
  18. So what’s the run been for coaches Colonels? 6 regional titles, 2 State titles, 2 final fours, first round exit and a Covid ended year. Been quite a run, and a few bounces here or there and we are talking about it in a different light. You could say they could/should have another title in that span!
  19. Ipsarro better get that ankle worked on immediately, gonna need him to accomplish what they want too.
  20. First time seeing GRC this year, after all the hype I can say they were a bit underwhelming. Don’t know if it was an off day or just the great play of the panthers. But the lack of shooters and rebounding i think would be why they don’t win it. If either team knocks down shots in that game they are the winner.
  21. This is what happens when you build a top notch program. Everybody and everything around you elevates, the home grown talent and the kids you bring in. Just saying right away their talent is better, isnt giving credit to the guys that have made it better.
  22. But the talent they have wasn’t like this before Scott got here. They have developed and attracted kids, no matter who likes it or doesn’t like it. You build it they will come, kids know their development is top notch. That’s easy to play for, think you guys are taking the easy way out saying that. Talent is better in part because of him and the staff he put in place.
  23. Honestly it would take a lot for something like that to happen this year. There isn’t a Vinson or Veith out there, actually the exact opposite that player is now on the colonels. Ipsarro will be able to control any game in the regional for them. You have to take it out of his hands and hope the other guys aren’t shooting well, which is also difficult when Rylee and Starks are feasting at the rim. Just a tough assignment for the rest of the region this year, which sucks because our tournament is one of the best but hate going into knowing who is most likely going to win.
