  1. I think Tayden eventually becomes that classes QB1. Harris is athletically gifted and I think his best position down the road is WR. Just my opinion though, but I haven’t been wrong yet this month so I’m due.
  2. I’m 95% sure he will be a freshman.
  3. Do all these kids know that there is only ONE ball per game? Its fun to see all of this talent coming to the 9th, but to quote a famous adage…..only so many can fit in the lifeboat before it collapses.
  4. Nathan Vinson will be one of the top 5 players in the 9th this year, and I’m writing that in pen. Also, Highlands still has more than enough around him with Brayden Moeves and sophomore Vinny Listerman to be in the tier directly below Newport and Cov Cath.
  5. I believe there was a religious aspect of his transfer but then again I am not for sure.
  6. There was a tweet by an assistant coach. It did not specifically name any players. It came out hours after the young man transferred to Cov Cath. It was directed and poignant. I don’t think anyone disagrees with the content of the tweet, but subject and timing of the tweet were calculated and uncalled for. I’m looking forward to this year for the Birds. Feel like it is time to make a big move.
  7. Communication is key as June is such a busy month. If coaches communicate and understand that athletes will be attending multiple workouts, may miss an occasional practice for another sport, or need a day of rest....then athletes can attend whatever fits into their schedule. Where I coach the head football and basketball coaches schedule around each other in June and give the kids the ability to attend all if they wish. The problems begin when coaches tell students they HAVE to attend their sport and all workouts or they will be lowered/erased from the depth chart. This is where coaches are looking out for themselves and not the student athlete. Let the kids be kids, let them play what they want and understand you may have to accommodate another sport in June.
  8. I don't disagree with any of this, 100% accurate, and I love it. But I also strongly disagree with making false promises to kids, which we all know happens, AND assistant coaches/adults calling out 14 year olds on twitter. Not by name, but everyone knows who they are talking about, not a good look. I hope all works out for these young men. Go birds!!!
  9. Just know of at least one talented freshman to be that will be a Colonel. Hearing of others exploring their options. I’m looking for information as I don’t remember this type of thing happening in the past. Is it isolated to one kid/family or are things beginning to spiral? Can’t lose in-district talent. DEFINITELY can’t lose in-district talent to Park Hills.
  10. Is there a potential issue at Highlands?!? I’ve heard of at least one incoming freshman opting out to go to Cov Cath and a slew of potential others looking elsewhere. Anyone in the know care to comment? If there’s smoke and all….
  11. Nope. But thought maybe, just maybe you wait idk, say a year or so considering past alleged transgressions.
  12. Isn't Mays the coach at Montgomery County now?
  13. OK, I'll bite, what makes the leadership the problem? There are successful coaches in the building that have very successful programs that have been there through multiple leadership changes (Baoini, Listerman, Richey) to name a few. Maybe the right hires are not being made, but blaming leadership on a coach's inability to manage his/her program is a cop out.
  14. Any truth the rumors that a certain local News Anchor has applied for this job?
  15. Hearing Noska, recently of St X in Cincinnati has applied. He may be Cincy guy.
  16. I heard from a guy that knows a guy, that is relatives with a person in the building that he is there. I honestly do not know but have been told that he is there, but again....hearsay.
  17. I always thought this "rule" was implied. As many stated above there haven't been many and Starks did leave his senior year to play football in Ohio so the evidence seems to be there. It will be interesting how this plays out with Harney. I would have to think this would have been discussed before he enrolled there.
  18. Do we have any doubt that people from around the city/state/country will find their way to Park Hills?
  19. Getting accepted as out of district has mostly to do with class size. If there is room and meet requirements, then they can be accepted. There are many cases where siblings attend FTIS and others do not because of enrollment in that class. You cannot just enroll and write a check, unless you can ball LOL.
  20. Regional tournament games are bigger than regular season, they mean more and should have that feeling. Playing at a college arena brings that. I guarantee that almost every high school player would want to play the regional at NKU. I also think at this stage of the tournament they should all be neutral floor games and having them at one of the high school gyms possibly could eliminate that .
  21. If you have watched Newport lately, you would have to say no.
