I believe that Rio and declined opportunities to play JV in the past this year. Again, I am not in the know but that’s the word I’ve heard from multiple people so it must be true 😆.

Great offensive showing by the birds, 58 points and over 400 yards rushing on the road will win a lot of games. To quote Encanto “We won’t talk about defense, no, no.” Play calling in the 4th created some frustration and 4 letter words to be used. Seemed we wanted to say “Look, we can pass too” when simply handing the ball off and killing the clock would have been more prudent. But, big district win! Onto the next.

As a Highlands fan this game scares me. I hate playing good teams that you “should” beat. Recipe for an upset.

I'm not 100% correct, and I am sure someone else here knows better, but I believe there are a handful of Juniors that play JV for the Birds.

Close 1st quarter, 2 TD Highlands lead at half, and the Birds pull away big late. Win by 42-20.

I don't ever condone this type of behavior but multiple 2 point conversion attempts, onside kick up 14-0, and still throwing the ball deep in the 4th quarter once the game was well in hand may have played a part. Not excusing the refusal to shake hands, but if I were coaching these things would have set me off as well.

There was a lot of second guessing going around the Fort after the CovCath game and I believe they wanted to prove everyone wrong. At least that's what the little blue birdies flying around 41075 are saying. Plus with Coach Weinrich on the other sidelines they wanted to remind everyone that the current staff is better than the old.

I’d argue that Highlands gave 0…well you can finish that…..about stopping anyone. They wanted to score as many points as possible to prove a point.

It was nice to see the Birds put up some points and get the win, I’ll leave it at that. On to next week.
