  1. NKY's own Jeff Walz with a monster pelt to hang on the wall....wow!
  2. Conner beats Beechwood then loses by dubs to Holy Cross....sure, why not.
  3. Agreed, 100% Latoya Jackson. What about the Rabbit?
  4. Thanks, that is different than what a parent told me who was there. I apologize and stand corrected.
  5. He had Wake Forest #1 in the country....NUMBER ONE....during his second season. That season (2008-09) ended with a bad loss in the NCAA Tourney's first round vs Cleveland State, and the 2009-10 season ended with a loss to UK in the NCAA's 2nd round, but he was let go for off the court stuff, not going 1-2 in the Big Dance in his 3 years. Regardless, they were really good, tough, and full of NBA players when he was there (Jeff Teague, James Johnson, Ish Smith, and Aminu), and they have been rat dung since under Bzdelik and Manning. In the 9 years since firing Dino (including this year), they are going to have a grand total of ONE NCAA appearance, a one-and-out year, for Danny Manning. Only twice in 9 years have they even been over .500: 17-16 in 2013-14 and 19-14 in 2016-17.
  6. Purdue is #9 in KenPom and #11 in the Net Rankings...they are very good. VaTech beat them on a Neutral Court, not in Blacksburg. I think people are high on them, including me, because they are an elite offensive team. They also are a very sound defensive team, especially around the paint, and turn you over with great frequency. I will be shocked if UL leaves Blacksburg with a win. I expect UL to go 6-4 the rest of the way in the ACC, with Blacksburg a loss, but Tallahassee a win. I also think they can win at Syracuse, and should win at BC. Duke and Virginia will likely beat them at the YUM.
  7. I can't imagine how much fun Dino Gaudio had last night AT Wake Forest. Good for him!!!
  8. Side-note: Wake Forest is far enough along in their rebuild to not be non-competitive at home vs a good but patched together UL team. The Danny Manning era is not going well.
  9. Thanks, yes, I did have them switched in my memory. Appreciate the correction.
  10. I have only seen them a few times, and I know they play AAU together, but is Palmer better than Friehofer? Maybe in my mind's eye I'm confusing the two; that certainly could be the case.
  11. Freihofer or the other one? They are both really good.
  12. As I understand it, HHS led 31-28 at the half, and then by 10 or 12 heading into the 4th...then the wheels for Anderson came off. I think Anderson is 2-15, or something thereabouts, so while I was surprised it was close at half, I wasn't surprised by the final margin. Congrats to Ryan Leigh for finding his stroke in a huge way last night -- 11 for 13 from three is UNREAL. The other big surprise to me was that Anderson won the FROSH and JV games. Did not expect that.
  13. I am happier for Rex Burkhead because he was an after-thought here, and has had the chance to make some memorable and impactful plays for the Patriots. However, I voted for Whitworth because I'm rooting for the Rams to win. Honestly, I have complete Patriots' fatigue, so I'm in the "anyone but the Pats" mode in every Super Bowl they are in. Which is most. Sadly.
  14. Sing that "Frozen" soundtrack Bro, it has been enough time. Your favorite team is in the ACC. Life is good.
  15. I think my #1 observation in the last 3 months on this site is this: you are an interesting cat. :thumb:
  16. I'd give you Tennessee and take the other 3, and feel confident taking my chances. They are good, to be sure, but I think the love affair has gone a little overboard. I have real concerns about their ability to make perimeter shots in the tournament, because, at some point, they are going to need to. They just aren't very good around the arc, and at some point, that is going to bite them. In my opinion. Not to mention, while I think Rick Barnes is underrated as a coach and has done a GREAT job at Tennessee, I'll put my money on Self and Ol' Roy in March versus Coach Barnes.
  17. I'm not going to lie to you @futurecoach, I read every College Basketball post of yours now with this glowing in neon lights:
  18. That is crazy impressive!!! Have been around Ben a few times, he is a very sharp young man -- oh, the places you'll go!!
