  1. You called a grown man a joke, and this job is decidedly better than the one he just had.
  2. Wow, such vitriol and unnecessary edge. I like Rod and Ethan, I was being flippant, sorry you took it the wrong way. You're a bit harsh on Mike Davis, he is a fine basketball coach with a better than solid record in his first year of a huge rebuild. He doesn't have a complete roster, so if his offense which so sets you off looks like this next year, feel free to pile on with more over-the-top rants.
  3. I was sitting in that vicinity, and a few NKU fans should be embarrassed at themselves. If you wouldn't say something to a man's face on the sidewalk, don't yell it at them from a distance. Embarrassing behavior. The technical that he received for the shoe retrieval when he was behind the play was preposterous, in my opinion. His kid is under 6', I agree, and he does have the greenest of green lights. Heck, Ethan Snapp had less of a "go sign" when he played for his dad at Newport, and that was the greenest light I'd ever seen.
  4. Sounds like the Phillies gave up their top prospect, another top 10 prospect, and an additional Top 20 prospect....ludicrous haul.
  5. Nick Senzel will be the starting Centerfielder with the Reds sooner rather than later, that will push Puig to RF, and likely push Schebler to LF...which makes Hal Morriss, err, Jesse Winker and Matt Kemp extra outfielders.
  6. Publicly, the only place it was said was by Dick Williams to Mo Egger, when asked about Kemp being better-suited to be a DH, saying we are looking to make a lot more moves between now and getting to Goodyear. The inference was clear.
  7. Kudos to Highlands for having all 3 of their boys teams (and one girls team) in the Championship games. Pipeline is robust for Kevin, I'm guessing that means the expectations for the Birds should be sky high the next several years.
  8. Barring injuries, if he is here on Opening Day, which I don't believe the Reds want, he will be half of a left / right platoon with Jesse Winker for left field. Since approximately 25% of starters are lefties, that would net him 40 starts. They do not want to have him on the team in April, they took him and half his salary because they had to, and he doesn't want to sit. He certainly is coming off a productive year, there is no question about that.
  9. Sometimes you have to bite a bullet to either get what you want, or get rid of what you want.
  10. Didnt miss it, chose to simply give a thanks and move on, didnt feel like a debate or engaging.
  11. Why do we need some sort of superlative that can only serve to get people to respond negatively, which isn't fair to Greg. How about just: Greg McQueary is a really solid coach, whose record the last 5 seasons has caused people to forget about him?
  12. Could they? Sure. Will they? No. Harper likely ends up in San Diego, so let's take him off. Machado likely ends up in Philly, so scratch him. The Reds have moved on from Dallas Kuechel, so you can scratch him. I think the Realmuto deal still ultimately gets done and he is in Cincinnati this year. If you made me guess today, I think Philly also signs Craig Kimbrel, but he is the intriguing name you don't hear anyone talk about. I still think Adam Jones and Denard Span are in play for the Reds, specifically if they can find a taker for Matt Kemp. The Dodgers are on the hook for half of Kemp's pay this year, I think the Reds are willing to eat the other half just to get him to an AL team for next to nothing. He will be a MAJOR CANCER in the clubhouse if he isn't playing much, which I don't expect he will.
  13. Agree, as much as I think Cooper is a solid favorite at this point to win the Region, I think CovCath is an equally strong "2nd choice" at this point. Like I don't think Cooper will lose to CovCath again in the Regional, I don't believe Beechwood will be able to knock off CovCath when / if they play at Holmes.
  14. So barring something really surprising, we are going to end up with the Highlands vs Ballyshannon match-up that most expected all year? Everyone for Bally healthy? I heard one of the soccer kids was on crutches at a recent game, but I heard it from about the least reliable mom on earth in terms of game reporting. :bunny:
  15. Exsqueeze me? Good for the Rebels, no one needed a solid win more than they did! Glad to see they have continued to fight and get better.
  16. How are either Ryle or GRC in the Louisville Invitational Tourney? Boys' division is all Louisville area teams, right? Do I have this wrong? Sorry if this was asked in a different thread, I don't mean to take away from this thread. Congrats to Ryle, have seen them many times, and they are certainly a very nice basketball team. Congrats also to GRC, sounds like several of their girls had a great runs.
  17. 8th: Woodland & Highlands // Ockerman & Ballyshannon
  18. I don't know what kind of person he is in "real life", but to this point, you'd have to call his short tenure a monster home run for the Cardinals.
  19. I would agree that you'd have to peg Cooper as the favorite to win the 9th on February 5th, 2019. :thumb:
  20. How many of the heralded Beechwood 8th grade class played on the freshmen team? I assume Berger and Boyd?
  21. I was WAY wrong. My apologies to the Wood. Congrats to Coach Goetz and his Tigers.
  22. If it is closer than 20 than it was closer than I thought.
  23. I will be surprised if either game is all that close, but the "energy" at the game at Beechwood should be well worth the price of admission (assuming you were one of the few to get a ticket).
