Lexington Catholic deserves to be the favorite, but there are a few other teams in this tournament who look pretty good on paper. I've only seen DeSales play. They are the smallest team in the tournament (enrolment wise) but they have decent size in their squad. They are accustomed to playing good competition so they shouldn't feel intimidated. They may have the best chance of the upset if they play well. Mason Co. and Taylor Co. also have pretty good W/L records, but their competition may not have been as strong ( I really don't know since I haven't actually seen them).

I saw him play a couple of times. He is a really good shooter, especially if you consider how often opponents have "keyed" on him!

Trinity is one heck of a good team. No disgrace losing to them by just 9 points.

It's a shame DeSales will be banned from next year's LIT. They're going to have one heck of a good team!!

Nice win for North Oldham! Seneca gave them a better game than I thought they would. Sorry to see Scales get injured. He's a great shooter. Hopefully, he will heal quickly!

I do think North Oldham will beat Seneca fairly easily. Seneca has been improving, but North will be playing on their home floor & they will probably shoot the lights out!! Still, it might be worth watching for free. Some of the Pegasus broadcasts have been pretty good. Beats the heck out of NFHS!!

Yes it certainly is!!! Western and Butler are pretty darned good!! The best news for DeSales is that some of their other players (besides the Gibson brothers) are really improving lately. I've been watching DeSales basketball for many years. This is the best DeSales team I have ever seen. They are really fun to watch in person!

I attended this game expecting a close one. I had watched a few replays on NFHS Network to see what Eastern was like. They have 3 really good shooters, especially from behind the arc. But the game tonight was never in doubt. The Colts came out with their hair on fire! They smothered the Eastern shooters & ran the floor all night! Subs finished the bulk of the 4th Quarter. That's the 3rd time I've watched DeSales this year. They keep getting better every game. I hope that can continue!

Looks like Eastern & DeSales are pointed toward a match up on Thursday (if they don't overlook their next opponent). That would be a pretty good game! DeSales just walloped Louisville Central 83 - 53 in the opening game of the "City of Middletown Holiday Classic"! The Colts have played a wicked schedule, but some of their "role players" have really been performing well lately. Tyler Klein - 26p-7r (7/13 FG) (7/7 FT) & Julian Bunton - 14p (6/8 FG) - Joined Crew Gibson and Brady Cummings in the double figures category this time. If those two can sustain their performances, the Colts will be hard to beat.

It would be hard to argue with your rankings. I'm looking forward to the King of the Bluegrass Tournament later this week. Warren Central, Trinity and DeSales are all looking good this year, as are GRC, Great Crossing, and Spencer County. Should be a nice tournament!

If that's true it could make for an interesting atmosphere when DeSales (at home) plays Ballard this Friday!

Colts lost by 5 to the Rocks. From what I hear, neither team shot the ball too well. Next up for DeSales is Ballard on Friday. They will have to step up their game for that one too.

Varsity at half-time score is Trinity 29 DeSales 27. The NFHS broadcast is horrible. Freezing up every 10 seconds or so. No scoreboard showing.

Male down, and Trinity Tuesday, Ballard Friday & Huntington Prep on Saturday. Tough 4 game stretch for the Colts. Tomorrow, away against the Rocks should really be a tough test. Good luck Colts!!

DeSales opens the season on Monday, Nov. 28 vs Male. Then plays Trinity on Tuesday the 29th. They then take a couple of days rest before playing Ballard on Friday, Dec. 2nd & Huntington Prep on Saturday Dec. 3rd. Whew!! I hope coach Anderson has their cardio in good shape!!

The Dragons refused to be denied again this year. They lost a close one to the ND Pandas last year & were determined to come back this year to complete the task. They were a very talented, well balanced team who passed the ball with great efficiency. They were very deserving of the State title that they won! Congratulations to all involved.

I'm a total outsider here, but if you take the school's rank in each of the two Polls above (Coach's + Computer) & order them lowest score to highest you get: 1. Cooper (3pts) 2. Dixie (6pts) + higher RPI 3. HHS (6pts) 4. Cov Cath (8pts) 5. Ryle (10pts) 6. NCC (11pts) 7 Connor (12pts) 8. Brossart (16 pts) 9. SK (19 pts) Beechwood & Holy Cross eliminated because neither school appeared in both polls. Looking at the KHSAA RPI score that looks pretty close.

I think this will be a pretty tough, hard-fought game. I give the nod to X, but I think it may be closer than most think. No inside information, just a hunch. I like this X team!!

South Oldham does have #6 Bethlehem on the 31st & a road trip to unranked but only once beaten Bowling Green on the 3rd. Both, should be good games to watch.

I agree, these two teams really went at it tonight! Of course there are several other great teams out there, but these two are some of the very best in the state.

They are playing a killer schedule, but they are one heck of a good team!! Beating NDA on the road 3-0 is a big step in the right direction. Wednesday against Sacred Heart might tell the story. SH has always been a tough opponent for South. Congratulations South! Nice win!
