  1. I can't disagree there if either or both want it. I meant the above in case they were looking at getting somebody from the outside as to why things maybe haven't worked out yet.
  2. They made a great hire practically immediately, no doubt about that. However, they also didn't have to find a teaching job for him either. As a matter of fact, I'm about positive that not a single coach on LCA's staff teaches in the building and/or LCA schools....including Coach Charles that just retired.
  3. Evan Hampton needs to touch it 25 times a game at least. I don’t care how, but he does. He’s that kind of talent at RB & the thing I like about him? The more he gets it? The tougher he becomes.
  4. Here is a crazy idea..... Maybe those teams have just been....wait for it....... Better.
  5. Since 2020 (counting a 12 game '20 season- no I didn't count a 'covid win', just like I wouldn't have a 'covid loss'. Those were dumb) Owensboro has averaged each year. 13 games/season 40 PPG 3,877 yards of offense I'll just go ahead and say it, but who the coach is & the schemes are, sounds like the least of Owensboro's problem (and, that's acknowledging the rest of the post was already happening. Because if they've been as successful as they've been over the years despite those things going on? Then they are a unicorn)
  6. Football Confucious man once said "Take a head job in a new place? You create you enemies. Take a head job in your hometown? You inherit them."
  7. The most important victories any coach can get, especially walking into a new position? ….are the one’s at the dinner tables.
  8. Nelson County 2025 Schedule 8/23- Shelby County 8/29- at DeSales 9/5- Thomas Nelson 9/12- at Bardstown 9/19- at E-town * 9/26- John Hardin * 10/3- Taylor County * 10/17- Marion County * 10/24- at Henry County 10/31- at Spencer County
  9. Marion County 2025 Schedule (Scrimmage) 8/8- at Green County (Scrimmage) 8/15- LaRue County 8/22- at Behtlehem 8/29- Knox Central 9/5- Washington County 9/12- W.E.B Dubois 9/19- at John Hardin * 9/26- at Thomas Nelson 10/3- E-town * 10/17- at Nelson County * 10/24- Taylor County * 10/31- at Bullitt Central
  10. No skin in the game with Marion County. They could hire Nick Saban or somebody who only has football experience through playing Madden for all I care, but I'm just happy for both.
  11. No wait period. Teaching jobs are certified, coaching jobs are extra duty. The misconception with the "30 days" when a coaching job comes open is that it often times is tied in with a teaching position, so to follow protocol(s) with the teaching part of the hire? You get the "30 days" But sometimes that doesn't even matter. They hire for the coaching position and go through the teaching gig side of the dog and pony show at a later date.
  12. No...he was, though. Let's just say things in their new district, a particular date or two will be really fun. If who they have hired and who is rumored to be hired are true? I'm very happy for all parties involved.
  13. They didn’t get helped out any for sure. Then again, they were in a cross district the last couple years with CAL and Central.
  14. And to go along with what GCHS, said They went back up from 3A to 4A, the new district above and paired up with 4A D1 the first two rounds. Tilghman, Franklin-Simpson, Allen Co- Scottsville, Warren East, Logan County & Calloway County.
  15. Close! He was in Florida for a bit. He went there after being the HC for some time at Jackson County. I can't remember the name of the school in FL off the top of my head.
  16. Yep. He's from there (Pineville & went to Bell). He played on Dudley's 1st state title team in '91.
  17. Here is my take on that. I got a feeling that who some at Owensboro THINK they should hire, in terms of it being a "splash" vs. who has actually applied (I have no reason to believe they wouldn't be able to do the job and then some) are two totally different things.
  18. Next level shady. Pitiful really.
  19. ?. This, too. All of it. The guys out there winning any at all across the state at “Three Stoplight County University”? Then when they have some talent & make the most of it (ie: done things at said school that have never been done before and/or haven’t been done in decades like district titles, even moreso a region title or beyond in a couple of those along with a state title appearance + maybe even winning it )? Can coach.
  20. 100% it is, while also knowing not everybody can get the keys to a Corvette without wrecking it…or in some cases, taking those keys to the Vette and turning it into a Maybach. ….or, if you’re somewhere that isn’t very good? Schedule people that suck worse than you do. It’s really not anymore complicated than that. Nick Saban said it best in his most recent interview on the Pivot podcast appearance the other day. ”I was never very good at turning bad athletes into good players.”
  21. No doubt. I'm pretty sure he has been with Coach Marksberry from the jump at Spencer County, then throw in the fact that he's a Brooks Roadian ? Nailed it here.
