  1. Most kids leave North to go to Central for lack of playing time. When kids transfer from Central to North they get denied by the school board and are often forced to sit out. i.e. - Dylan Mitchell this year past year.
  2. Per his twitter, Jeriah Hightower has agreed to further his playing career at Eastern Kentucky University. This news comes shortly after 3 of his Maroon teammates at Madisonville North Hopkins High School also committed to universities. Best of luck to these young men moving forward.
  3. He arrived in Bowling Green in 2003. One year after the National Championship Team.
  4. Jeriah Hightower adds two more scholarship offers to his list this weekend. The first coming from Coach Wells at Eastern Kentucky University, and the second coming from Coach Hood at Murray State. Both coaches stepping into new roles at their schools. Hood and Wells both coming from the University of Kentucky (that offered Jeriah a PWO in November), seem to be picking up where they left off. Congratulations to Jeriah.
  5. Coach Keith did an excellent job of changing the culture at Todd Co. Central. I work in the area. He had the kids believing again, and the community as well. They were 2 more athletes away from really taking off. Congrats to Coach Keith and his staff. #Achievement
  6. West Virginia has shown interest. Louisville offered a PWO. He has a few FCS offers as well (Illinois State, UTM, TSU, EKU). I would assume he is weighing his options right now.
  7. The storybook career of Jeriah Hightower comes to an end after a 184 yard performance against a very stingy Johnson Central run defense. Hightower's last outing made him the all-time leading rusher in Madisonville North Hopkins (MNHS) history, breaking the 50 year old record of Sonny Collins (former UK record holder prior to Benny Snell). Jeriah finished the season with 3,001 yards, which also is the single season record for MNHS, and ranks 8th all-time in Kentucky state history. Hightower has ran for 6,343 yards in his career, placing him 18th on the all-time career rushing list. Congratulations to this young man for the stellar career that he has had, especially since he did it while carrying a 3.8 GPA.
  8. Now that the regular season is done, I feel like it is safe to say that Blake Moody needed to be much higher on this list. Anybody that has had to gameplan for him would say the same.
  9. Jeriah Hightower career stats: Soph: 1528 yds, 15 TD, 127 per game avg. Junior: 1769 yds, 23 TD, 136 per game avg. SR through 8 games: 1870 yds, 233 per game avg. On pace to break Sonny Collins' (Former Record Holder @ UK before Snell) @ North Hopkins if they have a deep run. Also was a leader on the team that played Franklin Simpson (back to back state champs) to the wire last year to go to state.
  10. Hightower leads the state in rushing and has done it the majority of the season. Ranks 3rd in the nation and has been top five for weeks. With Louisville knocking at the door and averaging 10+ yards a carry I would think he would be in the top 3 with Beau.
  11. As I tried to tell BGP peeps, WC and Carmel were both down this year by their standards, and they were not the measuring stick this year. Good wins by name alone. Cathedral represented very well. With that said, still feel like Trinity is the favorite to win State imo.
  12. Warren Central and Carmel are both down by their standards. Warren Central just graduated studs off their state championship team who are playing respectively at their colleges as true freshmen. Indiana's State championship is wide open this year. With that said, Trinity should win, but Cathedral wont make it easy.
  13. Logan County looked beat up after the last district game. If they can heal in a short week they can essentially win the district this week.
  14. In case people out there are wondering...... Hightower is special. Wow
  15. Considering both teams play @ stadium of champions, there isn't home field advantage here. Both teams have solid defenses.....I give the tigers a slight edge, but wouldn't be surprised to see County squeak one out.
  16. I believe that district is the toughest in 4A this year. Logan, Hoptown, and Madisonville are all formidable foes. Jeriah Hightower and Resse Jesse are Division 1 football players. Tyler in Logan Co is a proven stud too. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of those schools make a deep run. Time will tell.
  17. Nick Grant, Senior, Madisonville North Hopkins. 3picks in 2 games at Safety. Definitely worth mentioning. Played against top competition all summer in 7 on 7 tournaments too.
  18. Grubbs is definitely a difference maker for that Hoptown defense. Maybe could have tipped the scale in their favor.
  19. First let me say, "Excellent job!" You were very thorough and researched. Question: If Madville's offensive line is suppose to be good, why didn't any of them make the preseason team?
  20. Madisonville North Hopkins running back Jeriah Hightower (Junior, 6'1", 217lbs, 3300 yrds rushing last 2 seasons) received another D1 offer from Illinois State.
  21. Excited to see this game since everyone has talked about how strong the other district was, and Franklin was the only team to survive after the 1st round. Tre Bass and Jeriah Hightower are the best running backs in all of 4A imo. Should be a game worth watching.
