7th region bracket: 1st semi: KCD plays winner of Brown/Whitefield Academy at 6:00 on Thursday 1/18 (at Collegiate) Collegiate plays St Francis at 7:30 on Thursday 1/18 at Collegiate Championship is at 8:00 at Collegiate on Friday 1/19. One would think it will be KCD vs Collegiate in the final as it has been many times in the past.

Is it unfair to say the Morgan County-Elliott County game is basically the championship game in the 1st round?

Who will win the 16th region All A? Elliott County and Morgan County have to be the favorites--who wins out of those 2?

Agree on all accounts @coachlee. Seneca played one of the toughest in-state schedules and based on their scores probably deserved an LIT bid even with a record that would suggest otherwise. Collegiate had their opportunity--based on my understanding of how the ratings for the LIT work, all they had to do was win their Christmas tournament and they would've been invited, and they came up short. 14-2 record against similar schools is solid but definitely didn't deserve a bid losing at home to an average Hart County team. Should be a GREAT LIT! Would love to see another Trinity-Fern Creek battle, and Ballard vs Butler in 2nd round should be awesome!

Has Louisville Collegiate ever been 12-1 before? @Smallhoops I assume this record and performance has them in the LIT right now for what would probably be one of 1 or 2 appearances in school history? They'll be up against it with whatever seed they get in the LIT if they're lucky enough to make it. The 7th region is as strong as the top as ever. We'll see how it performs in the LIT.

Very, very surprising result here. Seneca has played 4 solid teams but still St. X is 15-20 points better than them, I would think? Seneca is in year one with new coach, and they only won 7 games each of the past 2 years.

Instead of the 17-20 listed here, while I think all are in the mix, I would have Bowling Green, Madison Central, Walton-Verona and Owensboro Catholic. I know Bowling Green lost a TON, but I still expect them to be right there with Warren Central to win the 4th and get to Rupp. Isaiah Cozart is a stud for Madison Central, and they picked up a transfer from the 5th region who is a tremendous defender and energy guy--supposed to be super athletic. Dieonte Miles for W-V is a top junior in the state, just like Cozart, and this should be their year to win the 8th region (although I know Anderson Co will have plenty to say about that). And I've grown to never underestimate Tim Riley, who has Luke Hayden and a team that can cut down the nets in the 3rd region.

Last year, Ballard lost to Bowling Green 69-67 in King of the Bluegrass in a game they led by 18 early, and they lost to Fern Creek 4 times: once in King of the Bluegrass, one in LIT, the regular season game and again in the state tournament quarterfinal. So they only lost to 2 KY teams: Bowling green once and Fern Creek 4 times. Their only other 2 losses were to Indiana teams.

I believe everyone was there for Robertson. Mason Burden scored 4 pts after averaging 23+ per game last year. The Virgin Islands transfer is a 6'1 guard, very athletic and can shoot it. He came off the bench but looked to be their most skilled player. Collegiate had a kid throwing the ball off the backboard to himself and dunking it in warmups. And another tall, lanky kid hit at least 5 3s and maybe 6 during the game. Maybe Robertson had an off night but they might've played a team that could surprise some people this year. Didn't look like any Collegiate team I've ever seen before.

Collegiate beat Robertson Co 79-62 at Fleming Co last night before Bracken Co beat Fleming Co in the later game 53-39.

If you actually read the article, it says how he was forced to sign an agreement not to say negative things about the school and the situation JUST so he could get his final paycheck. If that's the case, how in the world does the Pitino comparison relate since Gatewood, too, was being screwed over by the director of the program by not getting paid on time? Article mentioned he almost came to blows with the director about not being paid on time in front of the players, so it's clear that he, too, was lied to. The Pitino comparison make absolutely no sense and has no bearing whatsoever about this prep school situation.

Are these all still on for Saturday?

This is a shame. Rich Gatewood, who did a tremendous job in his one year at Louisville Moore before moving to Taylor County and winning big there, gets completely left out in the cold because of this guy's lies. Gatewood has won everywhere he has been, and deserves another chance be it with a big time high school job back in KY or at the college level. He is an outstanding recruiter!

I heard Robertson County looked great in beating Bourbon County by 20 on Saturday. Robertson plays at Fleming Co on Tuesday vs Louisville Collegiate at 6 PM. Supposedly Louisville Collegiate has a group of sophomore transfers that are supposed to be good. Odd to see them go all the way to Fleming Co for a scrimmage.
