Paris used to be a great job. However, you are in a very tough district. They can still compete for the All A every year. They just hired a great football coach.

Montgomery County’s 62-point win over Harrison County is a 10th Region Tournament record for widest margin. The previous record was George Rogers Clark’s 55-point win over Augusta in 2023, 108-53.

Is Sullivan supposed to be responsible for the actions of parents too? A kid may have lunatic parents but what is a coach supposed to about that? You can’t punish the kid. He can’t make the parents run laps or sit out a quarter of a game. From what I saw, whenever a player got a technical on Cooper’s team they would sit the rest of the game.

The Indians broke a nine-year, 23-game losing streak to their rival GRC in the 40th District Championship in a packed Paris gymnasium. It’s Montgomery’s first district title since 2014. It was tied after one quarter, 16-16, and Montgomery led 29-26 at halftime. Cayden Reed made a pullup mid-range jumper to end the third quarter, extending the Indian lead 40-32. A little luck from Dawson Gentry’s banked in three gave MoCo the 43-34 lead a minute into the fourth. Things would stay out of reach until Malachi Ashford made a three, stole the inbounds pass, and made a layup to make it 45-41 with 5:45 left. Montez Gay’s three-point play with two minutes left made it a 51-49 game, with Clark trailing. Malachi Ashford would himself have a three-point play as well to make it a one-point game with a minute left. But, Cayden Reed would make five straight free throws in the fourth to seal the win. Montez Gay led GRC with 15 points and Malachi Ashford added 11. Tyce Jarvis led MoCo with 15 points and was named player of the game. Cayden Reed scored 12. I think it all depends on how much foul trouble Mason County gets in. Also, Augusta was up by 10 I think in the fourth quarter with 3 minutes left in their last game, but Mason County kept intentionally fouling and sending them to the free throw line in the longest 4th quarter in the history of the Fieldhouse.

I think strength of schedule plays a part in those 17 wins. They also gained two key players in the off-season. If Augusta can win district then he should be considered. I think Harrison County should be higher. They best Nicholas County, Pendleton County, and Bourbon County in the last month.

In Nick Ruthatz’s last video it looks like he is stranded on a desert island lol. Also, why are none of the Cincinnati/NKY media people covering this? I feel like a a head coach who won two state titles and is the all-time winningest coach at school as high profile as CovCath getting selected then removed for the Hall of Fame is pretty newsworthy. Where is some investigative reporting when you need it?

My question is how will Malachi Moreno compete going up against another 7-footer in the SEC? Nobody in Kentucky high school basketball can guard or outbound him right now.

Good schedule for Pendleton County.

The Royals score their least points in a game in school history and tie for their worst loss in school history (53 points).

I really like Bracken County's non-district schedule this year. Mason County, Holy Cross, Bishop Brossart, Sayre, and Paris. They should all be competitive games.
