The lights are from 1999. It definitely gets dark and makes it difficult for me to take photos. I believe they just raised property taxes to renovate Taylor Elementary, but hopefully, there will be some money left. The locker room is also pretty sub-par. I am not sure which school district he is in, but most have taken the new law to only apply to students in the employees' school districts. Albeit, the law isn't very clear on that interpretation either. But most (and I assumed all) districts have only applied the law to a teacher and a student in the same district. Now, if it did apply to all K-12 students/teachers in all districts, that would be a logistical nightmare.

Bracken County does not have turf and has the worst field and stadium in the state. If Pendleton County and Nicholas County school districts can make turf happen, I feel like Bracken County could if they made football a priority. Similar area and tax base. It would be different if the grass were nice, but it's like a cow pasture. If you are standing on one sideline, you can't see below the knees of anyone on the other sideline because of the giant crown in the middle. They did build a new concession stand opening this season. But that's only because the old concession stand was a single-wide trailer that was about to fall over the hill.

Nor was I told by state police … that [the teacher] in any way admitted to doing anything at Beechwood.” Also present at the time of the interview was then-high school principal Justin Kaiser, who was appointed superintendent of the district in May of this year. His first official day as superintendent is today. Kaiser, upon further review of the recording, appears to be in the room for the entirety of the conversation. But Kaiser did not face any repercussions because, according to the Kentucky Department of Education’s Jennifer Ginn, the Education Professional Standards Board’s “duty to report to the EPSB pursuant to KRS 161.120(3) is specific to the superintendent and does not apply to the principal.” Whether state police are aware of or in the midst of an ongoing investigation, a superintendent is still required to report alleged abuse to the board. Regardless, Stacy said, that’s irrelevant because he wasn’t in the room to hear the alleged abuse.

I agree. I have seen several teachers post that they are removing students from their Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok because of the new requirement. I never have any currently enrolled students on my social media. I think this new requirement has shown how lax educators have become with connecting with their students on social media, even though 99.9% of the time, it is innocent. If there is an urgent need for a student to contact a teacher/coach or vise-verca, they can do so through the traceable communication system, just the same as they could send a text message.

Correct on all. The parent of students will have to sign a waiver for that adult to contact them by text or social media. They could still use the school traceable communication system, though, without a waiver.

Jackson Whitten (2026) has been the quarterback the last two seasons and split time with Greg Benedict at QB. Whitten’s size gained the last year has him moving to OL/DL. His Twitter has him at 6’3, 270 pounds, 340 bench, 465 squat. On defense last year he had 9.5 sacks, 30 TFL, and 80 tackles. Division I offers from Butler, Pennsylvania, Morehead State, and Cornell. Daulton Tarter (2026) has been the running back behind the Polar Bears’ success. He also plays strong safety. Last year he had 2,083 rushing yards, 233 carries, 9.3 ypc, 32 touchdowns, five pick sixes. Per Twitter, he’s 5’9, 193 pounds, 4.5 second 40-yard dash, 500 squat, 350 bench. Tarter has flown under the radar and does not have any offers. With this schedule hopefully he gets opportunities to show what he can do. He is tough!

It was mentioned before that JCPS and other districts aren't allowing Hudl. This is up to each school district to decide. In my opinion, if coaches and students are using their school-issued email addresses on Hudl, that meets the requirements of being a "traceable communication system".

You have to do something pretty bad for EPSB to revoke your certification for life. Even if you are retiring it and you don't fight it. I've seen EPSB suspend people for five days, thirty days, six months, even nine years. He got a lot of criticism for his quarter-million-dollar salary. However, the school board members are the ones who continued to approve his salary rather than giving raises to teachers. I believe they were in a budget deficit two years ago too if I'm not mistaken.

Here is guidance on the new regulation from the Kentucky School Boards Association and the Kentucky Education Association. This helps answer a lot of questions. KEA is concerned about how it will be enforced. Accidental and innocent communication is an automatic report to the teacher certification board (EPSB) and disciplinary action will follow. Just jumping in on this. I always loved Frisch's! The food is great and it always looked busy. I'm not sure how it went out of bussiness. I don't care if they change the name to Big Boy or Dolly's, as long as I can get my cheesburger with tarter sauce and hot fudge cake!

Last year's Franklin County vs. Covington Catholic game. I was taking pictures and couldn't wear my gloves because I was taking photos and could not hit the buttons.
