General Lee in Somerset

Featured Replies

In conjunction with our monthly car cruise, Somernites Cruise, a group called Northeast Ohio Dukes jumped the fountains in downtown Somerset.

As you can see the car sustained some serious damage, but the driver was unharmed.

The actual jump was approximately 140 feet +/-.

You just never know what you're going to see in a small town in Kentucky.

There was a professional camera crew there today, so I expect better footage to come out. There were a couple drones, at least 3 cameras mounted to the outside of the car and a couple professional looking handheld cameras.

The camera man almost bit the dust.  That was a major safety violation.

Yup, he was very lucky.

Before someone has a cow, the car is a Crown Vic with Charger sheet metal, grill and bumpers.

No Chargers were harmed.

All I can imagine is a bunch of good ole boys sitting around at the Somerset Tourism Board meeting and one of them saying, “now hear me out.”

I think you're close, except it was at  a Somernites Cruise leadership meeting back in the winter. ?

The guys that put on the monthly car cruise are the ones that put it together.

If any entity tried to put it on they would have ruined it by charging the crowd for a ticket to be there.

The wrecked car, which does still start, sold in an online auction for just over $18,000.

Passenger door missing, it's in the Somernites Cruise garage as an autographed souvenir, front left quarter and suspension completely destroyed.
