I also heard this and Holmes actually decided so prior to HC beating Beechwood on Thursday night. So they basically locked themselves into the 4/5 seed match for districts. I could understand not playing the game after HC beat Beechwood but if they conceded it before hand, that is sad.

Well then in a situation like that, you bring up players from the freshmen team to fill out your JV roster. The only problem is that a lot of the smaller schools already have freshmen on the JV.

So, YC, let me see if I can read your mind. Highlands & Ryle (if they can get by BC in the district first round) = legitimate. St Henry = fairly realistic and Conner or NCC = huge upset.

So, Scott beat Carroll County and then dropped out of the tournament? Is the former varsity coach now the JV coach?:ohbrother:

Although HC beat Conner earlier this year at Conner, I'm going to go with Conner. Probably anywhere from 8 - 10 to nothing. It's Conner's senior day/night and they're looking for revenge from the earlier beating. Also, HC will not have many if any of their starting varsity players at the game. The HC coach is fielding a team to play Conner because Gallatin County cancelled. HC coach agreed to the game before he realized that this was the day of HC's home coming dance. So, if you don't have any family or friends playing in this game, and you were looking to catch a game, you might want to find another one to go to unless you like blowouts.

They could be one of 5 teams in the 9th region. It just depends on which team shows up to play. The same can be said for Highlands NDA, and Boone County now that they are somewhat healthy. NCC has been the best at this point and their match up with NDA next week could be a 9th region finals preview. I don't really see anyone else as a threat in the 9th.

What, no details? Come on YC, give us the details.

If there is such an agreement then why doesn't the 9th region have an approved plan out on the KHSAA website?

I was shocked that this game was moved to today because of the rain last night. It's a turf field at Ryle so why move it? Highlands/Campbell County and Cooper/Cov Cath played in the rain yesterday.

So, is the coaches association just the varsity head coaches or are the JV & freshmen coaches also members?

Unfortunately, there are a few schools that do not have an overabundance of players in their boys or girls programs. With these schools, you sometimes have kids that will play at all 3 levels (F, JV & V).

BC played well tonight. Nice spacing and speed to the through balls. The field was in decent shape - not wet from the sprinklers but rough from football. Also, the grass was cut really low. It almost looked like they were playing on turf as quick as the ball was moving.

Tonight's game 9/29 has been cancelled per the KHSAA website. When will this be made up since it is for district seeding?

Just heard about this one. Anyone with details. The KHSAA site had this game listed as a 4:00 o'clock start but I heard HC requested to move the varsity game up so that they could make it to a community service project at the Hosea House. The boys will be feeding the homeless/less fortunate families of Newport. It's a good thing they didn't feed NCC like they did Cooper the other night.

Me too. :popcorn: Could be an interesting discussion on this one but then again maybe not because the "haters" probably won't have anything to criticize the coach for since they won.

Yes, for Holmes to move out of the 4 or 5 seed for the district, they will need HC to lose to them and Beechwood. I think HC will be more than ready for this game because if not, I do not know if they will able to handle Beechwood 2 days later. The reason I say this is that HC has 3 games in that 3 day stretch between 9/29 & 10/1. They have Owen County on 10/1 and since HC doesn't have a deep bench, that third game against Beechwood could be tough. They barely beat Beechwood the first time they played this year (3-2) and this was the first game that Moses was eligible to play. You don't want to finish in the 4 or 5 seed spot or else you will be playing CCH just to reach the district finals.

Gotta love those Boone County sprinklers. They went off during one of the girls soccerama games. All I could think of was that somebody was filming a commercial for Buffalo Wild Wings as the goalie was getting pelted by the sprinkler.

There's still hope for a W. They have a rematch with Gallatin and then a game with Owen County who just got by Gallatin in PKs. Keep battling boys.

Was Ryle man marking Wend?

The boys have a freshmen and JV regional tournament so why don't the girls? Is this something that a particular school or schools coordinate for the boys or is it up to the coaches to coordinate something like this? Being relatively new to the area, I was just wondering if someone could shed some light on this topic.
