St Henry scored at 39:21 of first half. Cooper tied game at 39:11 of first half. That is correct, not a typo. Cooper scored again in the first half for 2-1 lead. St Henry tied game with less than a minute left in the match. Both teams had multiple chances for other scores but did not capitalize.

This seems like a predictable outcome for these two teams. Having competed against both teams they appear to be evenly matched to me. (actually, not me competing, I was watching, in case anyone was confused on that).

Jack Neltner and DJ Sanders scored for the Cru.

 

I don't know the names of the Cooper scorers.

DJ Cooper and Tanner Workman had the goals for Cooper, Snow with the assist.

 

I believe that Sanders and Bisbee had the helpers for St Henry.

 

I think performances by both goalies should be pointed out... I can think of multiple shots that appeared to be headed for net that were somehow turned away. If not for some really quality saves this could have been a 5-5 tie.

 

There were a lot of old friends on the field last night, sounds funny to say about a bunch of kids, but definitely the case. I think these friendships were reflected in the way the match was played.... very hard.... but clean. I actually saw some fouls that were quickly followed up with a hand to help them back to their feet. It seemed like both of the coaches really stressed the importance of communicating, and chatting last night, I am not really sure they intended it to be with the opposition though.

 

I feel that both teams were on a pretty equal level last night and that the tie was a fair result for each.

It was also nice to attend a game and not hear the fans yelling out at refs and/or players. I don't remember hearing one fan on either side complain about a bad call. Last night reminded me of how games went when I was a kid. Both teams played really hard and the fans were respectful. We need more of this!

I do actually remember a few people getting a little testy over a bad (no) call... not saying they did not have good cause to do so... I will just say it might have involved some excessive handling in the box.

I'm glad you clarified that meaning before the moderator stepped in......

I think he meant a Cooper defender was juggling the ball with his hands for about 5 seconds before he let it drop to the ground so he could clear it.:lol2:
