Covington Latin

Even when trailing by a fair number of goals they never quit or get down on themselves. I agree with you oldtime that a win would be awesome and deserved because of the determination and attitude!

Tough 2-1 loss to St Patrick's, but tomorrow it looks like someone gets their first win.

Cov Latin vs Gallitan Cty....Go NKY / Region 9

Definitely a good chance for that. I just hope Gallatin has a couple of players for a bench. I heard Gallatin they played on Saturday against Conner with only 10 boys. Wend went for 5 against them.

I'm also hoping that Cov Latin gets one in the W column!

Ok....why would a coach let Wend go for 5 against 10 players?

Maybe more important question, why is Connor playing Gallatin Co?

.... or Pendleton Co and Grant Co.

Their Maher SOS is currently 2.12. This lastest calculation does not include their most recent matches against Grant Co and Villa Madonna, both of which have a (-) SOS.

Was it their senior night?

No, they played in the Toyota Cup, I think this is a Tourney Grant Co hosts.

Grant Co, Conner, Gallatin Co and Beechwood.

Same reason he let him go for a hat trick against Boone with the game well in hand, 2 minutes remaining, and mostly subs in for Boone.

I thought he only had 2 against Boone and one looked to be an own goal, you are saying he was credited with 3.

Don't know if he was credited because I thought it was an own goal. I don't know the official ruling. But the point is he was definitely trying to get a hat trick at that point in the match when the game was all but over and Boone was playing subs. Goes to OTB's question as to why was Wend still in scoring 5 goals against Gallatin Co when game was way out of reach for Gallatin and they were down to 10 players. Conner won 9-0!

Maybe he got those all within the first 15 minutes of the contest and then was pulled. But if he played most of the match just to score more goals...

It seems pointless for Wend, and a bit like rubbing it in the face of the opponent.

Reinforces why stats on the khsaa website is of no use without the details. I wou.d count 0 of those goals in consideration .......

It would be interesting to run Maher-weighted offensive stats for the top scorers in NK, using the individual opponent Maher Rating as the multiplier instead of the average opponent Maher Rating. To account for goals and assists, make goals worth 2 and assists worth 1 in base value (fairly standard weighting). Where an opponent has a Maher Rating of less than 1, make the multiplier 1 (they all are worth 1, but some are worth up to 12 or 13 if you score on a top team). Use the Ohio individual Maher Rating for teams playing Ohio opponents. Thoughts?
